That was interesting. First It shows Mr.Decaf still flying till Cygnus turns off the power.
HE FALLS! ROCKMAN DO SOME... oh hes all right. Subaru is a kind boy sharing seeing that their both hunger.
Now the car (yeesh, you think the man would have been kind to drive the kid home. Anyway his car blows up and now he is somewhat possed by Cygnus?
Later we see Subaru talking to that guy (i still don't his name) telling him all about his flying machine.
Now he's looking at the planet and the radio waves I guess. Look at him being all jumpy when the guy comes in.
Look now Subaru's friends have come over tea and cookies.
Now mister decaf is a Denpa Hekon user althought Cygnus forced it. Now attacking the building use the Rocksymbol to call Rockman to the seen.
Now they are intesten and going to do something. Luna and friends are watching it. Now the episode ends.
Over all I guess it wasn't bad. Maybe we will more of Offer Antenna Dude next episode. All I saw was him looking for Rockman on an Empty stomach _________________

It seems Subaru has the Superman effect. In reality, a bright blue and red spandex suit should not be nearly enough to keep Clark Kent's identity safe, yet it seems to work. Likewise, a helmet that only really covers Rockman's forehead seems to be enough to disguise Subaru's face.
Really, has the thought, "Hmm, he sure looks like Subaru..." ever once cross Luna's mind? Sure, I understand it would be quickly brushed off, since Subaru isn't the kind of person you'd assume has superhuman abilities, but to be absolutely oblivious to any similarity... I mean, c'mon.
Personally, I'm hoping in episode 7, Rockman's going to get whooped hard enough to revert back to Subaru, right in front of Luna, Kizamaro, and Gonta. Seeing is believing, so they'd better believe it if they see it. |

Yay! Theory time!
Every FM has its own "frequency" (i.e. mojo?), and when a Human is "tuned in" to that FM's frequency, a Denpa Henkan can occur. However, Subaru was most likely forceably "tuned in" to WarRock's frequency after he kinda hit Subaru on the head. Then there was that pretty glowy scene where WarRock introduced himself, yadi, yadi, yada.
This is what I thought before watching this episode. But, now, it seems that in order for a Denpa Henkan to occur, an FM must first "tune" its prospective host to its own frequency, thus the pretty glowy scene with Mr. Decaf and Cygnus, since, I'm guessing, Humans really don't have their own "frequencies"
The difference is that WarRock is nice(er) and allows Subaru to choose when they perform Denpa Henkan. Cygnus is like, "Dude! Mr. Decaf is, like, totally pissed! I can, like, totally take advantage of him! Kewl, lol!"
...

Mr. Decaf's name is Utagai.
Asian people typically have very similar facial structures, and something as simple as a helmet and a visor could easily change their identity. If not that, the transformation could have similar effects that the Sailor Senshi had in Sailormoon; even though they looked exactly the same, people couldn't recognize them.
Overall, good episode. Nice BGM, and I'm glad to see the action picking up with this series.
I'm also pleased to see that Utagai's merger with Cygnus didn't look like the manga depicted him. Perhaps the manga's art style is too exaggerated to use it as an accurate preview... so, perhaps the new mergers we'll see in the future won't look as lame as the manga makes them look. _________________

Mmm...yeah, but...these guys don't have Asian features... :/
And, Mr. Decaf is more fun to say. :] _________________

Obviously. The animators can't waste vauleble time and effort individualizing every single character. But the main characters are always different from each other.
Take for instance...I dunno. Yugi and Netto. Or Subaru and Goku. Or Ed and Daisuke. Or Naruto and Satoshi. Different, yes?
Anyway, I'm actually agreeing with you. Unless Rockman is standing right in front of you, and Subaru's face is clearly imprinted in your brain, it could be very hard to tell that he's Subaru. Luna might never be able to tell the difference because she's infaturated with Rockman, but doesn't really care too much about Subaru. So that connection could never be made, because she's not thinking about making that connection. If Keibou-san were smart enough he MIGHT be able to make that connection because he's already suspicious of Subaru (not that that's going to happen anytime soon, but hypothetically speaking, it's possible).
So, now that I've had my philosophical moment for the week... _________________

Normal people never figure out who's who. That's a rule of superheros. Plus some people are just not that smart enough to tell. |

I really enjoyed this episode, more then I initially expected. I didn't understand much of it but it did kept me interested from beginning to end.
I liked the scenes between Utagai and Subaru. Subaru is a kind boy and I like Utagai more now after this eppie. I don't know what was going on but I got the feeling Cygnus forced the transformation. The design of Cygnus/Utagai merger looks pretty good, I like it just as the short battle at the end. Due to my lack of Japanese unfortunately, I am wondering: Is Cygnus in complete control now he merged with Utagai or has Utagai a level of control while he is transformed? I got the impression that Cygnus controlled everything while Subaru/Rock are working together.
I still can't get used to the talking Warrock head. It just strikes me as...weird. I also noticed something strange regarding the animation, especially the drawing of Subaru's head. But it is probably my imagination.
Great episode, with another cliffhanger, again. I am really looking forward to the next one. _________________ This great avatar is made by Synchro-kun. Thank you!

Is it just me... or did the OP seem a little more polished? Hard to tell, I suppose. I thought I could see shadows, and shiny features on the characters. Not sure though.
Unless it's been like that. >_>; |

Are they EVER going to stop showing us the WHOLE intro of the anime? ~_~ It's already 9 minutes 44 seconds long, almost 1 minute alone is the intro theme, and another minute is wasted on the resume everytime. With the same scenes of always that girl picking up a steak from a wave oven and then the wave viruses. -_-; _________________ SPOILER:

As far as I can tell, Cyguns and Mr. Decaf had a "joint merger". I say that because the fusion mentioned Amachi-san and had the same resentment to him and Amaken as Mr. Decaf did, but at the same time, he recognized WarRock. _________________

Some things I noticed that people haven't pointed out yet...
Cygnus is the FM's name; when he and Utagai merge, the result is named Cygnus Wing (which fits the same pattern as Taurus/Ox Fire from before). Apt name, too.
Cygnus gets Utagai to fuse with him by playing up on the poor guy's innate fear and paranoia, confirming every doubt and fear he has about other people trying to take advantage of him and telling Utagai that he's his only real friend.
Also, the term is "Denpa Henkan". It means "radio-wave transformation". |

That's why I said "standard." People like Yugi, Goku, and Ed aren't exactly standard. But this is just overkill now, so I'll quit. _________________

Yeah, of any of them from that scan, Cygnus and Snake Girl are the most likable in design. I kinda liked evil red eyes better for Cyggy, but otherwise it mostly looks the same. His black shadow under his eyes are a little different, on top of the color. I think since we can't see his arms and most of his lower body in the scan, it looks a little different with the light blue being pretty dominant in his color scheme. The scan seems like it's only dark blue. But he did look pretty cool in this eppy and hopefully the future fusions do as well, whoever they are.
I too am getting a little annoyed they keep replaying that explanation scene to begin the show. We get it already. It's wasting time that could be used to develop the story or be used for some good action.
Kinda feel bad for Decaf now that we've seen more of him. Not a totally likable villain, but to an extent at least. And sorta interesting that the special project he was guarding was those wings. But...um...seriously: What the heck was that thing in his office? A homicidal rocket? Giant machete and a hammer in it's hands, looking like it wants to kill something (or Utagai at that angle)? It even had little angry eyes! That thing must be AMAKEN's mascot, right?! RIGHT?! Lord, I hope not. _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

It's an interesting episode. The cygnus wing looks interesting. I almost want a full episode so I can know some of the characters more. |

There was this girl watching this episode over my shoulder yesterday, and she said that "Cygnus Wing" looked like a "tourist with that duck hat on". I told her he was a swan, then she said, "Man, that's one ugly swan, then. Aren't swans supposed to be beautiful?" :/
I kinda have to agree. Blue face. Duck feet. Nast'. Aside from that though, the design is muy cool. I still like Rockman's design better, though. _________________
