Hope & Light: OF, Poem

I'm writing this for a school contest, but I thought I'd put it up here.

Because I can.

They are what all need,
yet few have;
One raises civilization,
the other raises humanity,
yet both are absent at their height.
Dreamed of by many,
held dearly by few...

The dreamers hope,
the kind shed light

Yes, I dream.
I dream of Hope,
I dream of Light,
I dream of a better future for all,
and I dream of those who would bring it about.

Hope and Light,
hand in hand,
hope begets light, and light begets hope
a cycle, a circle,
unbroken, lives rise,
shattered, they plunge into despair

Reduced to dreamers once more.

I dream of hope,
I dream of light,
but more so, I dream of life.
