I played Rockman.Exe Battle Chip GP at the other day. I guess... it's some sort of a bad thing, since :
1. It neglects our existence as Super-Operator(Player of the game) of both Rockman and Netto since we usually control them with ourselves and do as we command in the battle or in the real environment. But, in this game, we just have to customize the Navi deck, and as Netto, your job is to slot-in ONLY 2 Battle Chips that you have picked from the "Navi Program Deck Slot-in Chip" Slot
2. The battle's result can easily be seen since it's using sequential turn of attack, not like from the usual edition, we can freely move Rockman and can launch attack at anytime. By using the usual battle, i ever managed to defeat Yamatoman that has 360 HP with my Rockman that only has 10 HP left.
Well, for the major things, that's that
How is your opinion about this game? Do u agree with some of my arguments?
Just post and don't forget to put a reason _________________ Your last word will become the word that will always be remembered by anybody |

I think they were just toying with the idea of having you as the Operator and an AI as the Navi. After all, isn't that how it's supposed to work? However, the randomization system was half-baked and the Operator's role, as you point out, wasn't much better developed than in the normal EXE games. Then they got it just right with 4.5 Real Operation and all was well.
I kind of like the way EXE WS set it up, but that needed some work too. Here's how it goes - you set four chips to the four secondary buttons on the WS and use them at will. However, the game has a connection level to Netto. When the connection is at a certain level, you can't go into the menu to change chips, and when it's at zero, you can't use chips, period. (Using Aqua Custom negates that.) The problem with that is that you have to collect each chip, so if you want to use, I dunno, Cannon, you have to go out and get several Cannons. There are "equipment" chips, which give you a property or change your Buster when you turn them on and don't run out, like Sword, but I found that those were the only ones worth using. Cannon has power equal to a charge shot, possibly less, and the only reason to use a chip like that is a) spammability, which is not really a good reason when you only have a few of them, and b) because they can be boosted, except that booster chips are fairly rare and they get used up too. I only ever used Sword (later Wide Sword).
I guess Capcom is sort of in a bind. You can make the Navi's default weapon suck and make chips the primary means of attack, like in normal EXE, or you can make the default weapon the big thing and have chips be a special resort, like in Classic, WS, and the anime. I suspect that at the end of the series, they were still working out the balance, and some of the aspects of WS, BCGP, and EXE6 show that they have played with the balance before. Style Changes, Soul Unisons and Crosses tried to put some of the power back into Rock, especially when you're talking about Heat, Elec, Slash and Tomahawk Crosses, but too little too late, really. I'd love to know how Ryuusei handles the issue. |

I think the idea was good but how they did it wasn't. 4.5 was what they got right with it. Mostly it's the chips and how you used them. |

4.5 actually captures the feel of the Navi/Op experience. You actually act as an operator and send chips, and you navi fights with AI. Your GBA would be turned into an actual pet, it's fun. But IMO, the game should be ported to DS, with those features, the game could be even better... |

Of course it would. But I think they said they wouldn't because there's too much text and stuff to translate. |

Actually, a Real Operation game for the DS would be great. The Progress PET used a touch screen and the Link PET has a light pen (although I've never seen it used for anything other than Crossing in Beast+). If they figured out a good way to use the touch screen to mimic something like those PETs, it would be great. For starters, being able to change tactics and targets on the fly instead of opening up a menu, and having your chip pictures on the touch screen instead of just the names at the bottom. Basically everything that used to be in menus on the touch screen to even better emulate the feeling of Operating through the PET. In the map, something not wholly unlike the touch screen in Twin Leaders*. You could even have minigames to get past obstacles or perform tasks or something. The touch screen is in the same spirit as the Wiimote, a creative if slightly gimmicky way of doing things that goes beyond D-pads and buttons. 4.5-RO could have used some of that potential.
* Seriously, I love the touch screen PET. It's the only way I do things in Twin Leaders. Hell, I went back to EXE6 after playing TL for a while, and I wanted to save, and I pulled out my stylus and actually got as far as tapping the screen before I remembered I was playing a GBA game. It was a little embarassing. |

Yeah it would be fun but I think maybe an online game might be the best choice. Maybe they could use the wi-fi for this. We all thought it out here before. |

Aha, those were such interesting comments. But, one thing that my friend told me as he was a great gamer, "Player is the most important thing in a video game"
So, the feel of take a part in the game is surely needed in order to make the game interesting _________________ Your last word will become the word that will always be remembered by anybody |
