Since no one is paying any attention to the timeline thread sticky...
Was there ever any explanation as to what eventually happened to Megaman/Rockman, Blues/Protoman, Roll, and other bots? Between the last defeat of Wily, creating Zero and X, there's this era of...nothing. Obviously something had to have happened to them. We don't want to think of them as destroyed or deactivated, but what else is there? Our heroic warrior's ultimate reward is DEATH. -_-; Will there ever be a final game that explains what happened to him? Does anyone have any theories? Good theories mind you.
One theory I have is that he is the same Rockman/Megaman as in Legends, but that has a lot of questions and holes in it. The original series connected to X which connected to Zero and connected to ZX which will connect to Legends somehow. You can see it coming, its just...very fuzzy.

They all decided to take a vacation to the moon and eventually realized they didn't bring enough fuel for the trip back. In fact, when Rockman Trigger gets stuck there at the end of Legends 2, he finds them all sitting around watching reruns of Star Trek. 
Seriously? There has been a complete lack of confirmation from Capcom on the subject. Maybe they have a Rockman 9 concept sitting around somewhere that'll wrap things up, and none of the bigwigs want to give a definite answer in the event that that game might someday be released.

Yes and no. Stickies tend to go dead and then no one notices when someone comes along and posts in them after they've been dead... My initial question in the timeline sticky is about Trigger and Legends, but I pose a main question here about the fate of the original Megaman/Rockman. No one knows. His timeline just...ends. There's no climactic battle, no hints at where he may be, no nothing. At least with X you see what becomes of him in subsequent games. IE: MMZ and ZX. But poor lil Megaman is just forgotten. What happened to him? A loose end that needs to be tied up somehow. Maybe he in fact somehow IS Megaman X. Rebuilt to be X and Protoman is rebuilt as Zero. Hmm? Subject of much debate. 
Oh, and please try to keep silly theories to a minimum. Nothing gets resolved in those. Thanks.
