Okay, I admit, watching the Ghost Hunters marathon inspired me.
Have any of you ever experienced anything... paranormal? I haven't myself, and the stuff that I have experienced probably wouldn't be considered paranormal, as I'm a bit paranoid anyway. But what about you all, if you're even "believers" at all? xP _________________

I don't know if it counts, but I see stuff out of the corners of my eyes all the time XD; One notable experience was back before I moved (about 2 years ago), it was 2 AM-ish, and I was sitting at the computer with my back to the room. I felt this bizarre...presence behind me, like someone watching me, and I turned my head a little, catching something that looked like a person's shadow flitting out of the edge of my vision. I turned around entirely, only to face an empty room behind me. Needless to say, I was a little creeped out XD; _________________

I am extremely paranoid about airplanes, although I go on one all the time. XDD;
That, and anything dealing with souls and direct contact of human beings (Cloning, and stuff.) And also I am so paranoid about contacts that I have not dare to get a pair for like 3 years. XDD;
And lastly, any computer sites that look like spam. _________________

Er, Synchro, paranoid and paranormal are kinda of different categories....
I had a few, and, surprisingly, most of them happened during my second year in high school. All the rest are scattered at pretty much one in two years.
This one creeps me out every time I remember it:
I think every one of us wakes up at a certain hour before dawn. 3am, 4am, or thereabouts. We just open our eyes, check if there's sunlight yet, then go back to sleep. When I wake up during these times, I'm usually already facing the window, so all I have to do to go back to sleep is close my eyes again.
Now, this one time, I opened my eyes to see that my view of the window is blocked by a silhouette. That particular silhouette was at a position of sitting on the side of my bed and bending over toward my face as if to kiss me.
Panic attack, of course. But one blink and it was gone.
I don't remember if I was able to sleep right back, or if I took a quick look around the room before going back to sleep, but since then I never slept without a nightlight until my little sisters were old enough to move into my room. _________________ TGS 2007:MISSED! T_T |

NG's story reminded me of something a little more recent, in my own experiences. This happened last year sometime, after my first move (I've moved twice). I lived in a place that had a smoky glass window on the front door and a wooden porch beyond it, and when I slept on the couch (which I occasionally did) I had a perfect view of the door.
Well, one morning when I was sleeping on the couch I woke up on my own and stretched, then heard a knock on the door. I opened my eyes and saw a shadowed hand just beyond the glass panel, then move back when the knocking ended. Nothing unusual there, that's how people appear on the other side of the glass. However.. When I got up immediately after the knock and opened the front door, there was no one standing there. Nor had I heard any footsteps of someone leaving the porch. I even went out myself and looked around, and there was nobody whatsoever in the area. Thing is, I'd actually been contemplating going back to sleep, but the strange knock had woken me up completely..at an hour I had to get up anyway. I'll always consider that, whatever that was, my cosmic alarm clock ;P XD _________________

I would suggest you read this entry on wikipedia about Peripheral vision before you think TOO much of those kinds of things :p Also Pareidolia might be interesting to read.
I'm not saying tho that you did not see anyone or anything paranormal. In fact I really think there is such a thing as ghosts, but more like a kind of... other dimension thing that can be scientifically proveable. Like... a soul is indeed some sort of energy, but sometimes they can be percieved by humans. And because it's energy and it's not really in our dimension it might be colder because of that. But I have noooo idea XD I'm basing this on absolutely nothing seeing as I never had paranormal experiences.
But I do know someone who has... but she's... a bit weird and annoying. She claimed that she saw people at graveyards and one time (this was at a school trip in England (and I live in Holland btw)) she saw a ghost on the other side of the room. Well I don't see ghosts and I checked it out, but there was absolutely nothing different there then at other places in that room... But she tells loads of different stories half of which are fiction. _________________

The thing about paranormal phenomenon is that when people have a story to tell, you can never be sure if they're telling the truth. =\ Personally I hate it when people lie about such experiences; kind of ruins the excitement of percieving something completely unknown and something we have much to learn about before we can even determine if it exists. To really determine if you've seen a "ghost"... you need knowledge pertaining to what paranormal phenomenon is like, and how to distinguish it from just your imagination seriously acting up. And more than likely, you need equipment to prove it. Other than that, I suppose someone would have to be pretty insolent to believe you when you tell them that a spirit manifested itself and tried to kill you. xD _________________

I have a good friend who has this wonderful knack for moving into haunted places. Her bedroom at her grandparents were haunted, then there was a rather major episode at her seconed apartment. Not the typical stuff either, I'm talking about rooms tossed, hardback books ripped in half, things jammed against doors in ways that arn't humanly possible for anyone to do...
long story short they had to burn some sage to get the "activity" to stop.
freaking creepy. |

Sounds Excorsist-ish @___@;; which by the way I find a brilliantly disgusting movie... and I don't have to see it EVER AGAIN!! >___> (sorry, just can't take a 12-year old (or something) girl doing all that stuff and saying all those things >__>) _________________

The most I've ever experienced are objects moving around and hearing things. The most notable moving object moment was at my old apartment. I had some friends over and we had been drinking bottled cream soda, and we left the bottles on the cabinet next to my trash can to sort through later. During a lull in conversation we heard what sounded like several heavy items falling into the trash. We went to look and a couple of the bottles had indeed ended up in the trash can, but on the side farthest away from the cabinet.
It seems when it comes to paranormal activity, always trust your instincts. You don't have to be psychic (or psycho XD ) to know when something weird is going on. That's what I've learned from my very limited experiences anyway. ^^ _________________ Life's too short to take seriously, so walk your path with a bright smile and a light heart.

Newton's first law of motion states that an object in motion stays in motion with the same direction and velocity unless acted upon by force. If a bottle rolls off a counter and lands into a trash bin, one would to expect it to fall away from the counter.
There's no scientific evidence whatsoever of any sort of paranormal phenomena. It can all be lumped into three groups: hoax, pseudoscience, and hearsay. _________________ *placeholder* |

something interesting happened about a month ago ... me, my roommate, and my other roommate and his girlfriend was in the room talking. the roommate with the girlfriend was listening to music but had paused it to makeout or whatever. anyhoo, there was weird static coming from his speakers and this weird, hollow voice that sounded like a cell phone with bad service. my roommates and i swear the voice said "Paul (my name) ... Pa-aaaaaul ... sa-a-a-a-aaaaave me" and then everyone just looks at me. it was really creepy. what made it even creepier was the fact that earlier that day we found a mouse in a mousetrap that was on my side of the room and my roommate threw it away. crazy stuff ...
oh, and this is random, but it's related in terms of weirdness. it seems that if im thinking about someone when im out and about, i run into them (i mean literally into - turn the corner and BAM!). or, they call me. i could make a whole list starting with this morning but im in class and that takes too long. ^_^; _________________ Avatar by Tabby (of my NetNavi, GuincoolMind.EXE) : : :

There's only one I can really think of, though I doubt it accounts to anything.
A couple of years ago, I was doing my yearly sailing trip with the Cadets. One morning, I just got to the shorline, and turned my head left, and I saw this woman walking along the shorline of the St. John River. I stared at it for a couple of minutes, only because she was wearing a white nightgown or something I couldn't quite make it out. Fairly odd for someone wearng that along a river. Then I turned my head away for a brief moment, turned back, and the figure was nowhere to be seen.
Along the shoreline, there are no paths leading to the road further up, and even if she did go up that route, she'd had to walk through tall grass and what not, and I probally would've seen that. _________________ Hold it! You're lying, and I can prove it!

Don't know if this is paranormal or not, but it was weird either way.
Afew years back, I was spending the weekend at my dad's apartment. That day, I had been playing Golden Sun on my GBA, so when it was time to go to bed, I switched it off, jacked in the charger, and plugged it in.
Several hours later, probably in the wee hours of the morning, I awake to hearing the Golden Sun theme playing. My GBA has somehow switched itself on, green power light blazing, and playing the title music. I say, aloud,
'' What's my gameboy doing on?'' I walk over to it in the darkness, flip the switch off, and go back to bed.
I thought it was a dream later, but my dad said that he heard it too. So, how did it turn on? My dad thought that it was an electrical surge of some sort, but that doesn't explain how the switch was flipped. I doubt that anyone did it in their sleep; the switch is too small to finely manipulate during a state of semiconscienousness. It's still a mystery to this day. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

Paranormal.. hmm.
One time I went to this place that was supposedly an old haunt (no pun intended) turned museum. We never went inside, but as we walked by, I distictly heard a wierd laugh. Like it was a quick, barking laugh, but to sounded faintly distorted, as though it wasn't human. Mind you we weren't near any other houses and my classmates had been forced into silence by my irate teacher/ chaperone.
I've also woken, rather recently to the odd noise of metal creaking. It sounded like a sheet of metal at least 20 feet accross was being bent as slowly as possible to produce as much noise as possible. It was very late at night. We have nothing metal in my house, or in any house around mine that would fit that description. It also felt like I had awoken for that reason alone: to listen for it. I woke up a few seconds before it started up.
My friend from school also lives in an apartment that looks like something freaky happened there. Several things, the most prominent I remember beinng a doorway, with scratches around the door that looked as if a previous door had been voilently ripped from the wall. In any case, my friend is a practitioner of several martial arts, and I so happened he was walking down a hallway with a sword on his belt. He felt like he was being followed. When he turned, on the far wall of the hallway, there was a humanoid shape. It was vague but he said it wobbled from side to side as if it had a bowlegged priestlike gait. He suddenly felt really angry for no reason, and began shouting at it. It reacted to this and stopped. He then pulled out his sword and insulted it, and it backed away like it was slowly retreating from him. He checked the area a few minutes later and there was nothing there at all, or anything to suggest anyone had been recently.
He also was in his room once, again alone and with a sword (he noted that all these things seemed to happen when he was alone and practicing). It randomly seemed to him like invisible entities surrounded him on the eight compass directions, in a ring. He continued practicing anyway, but the feeling from the entities was snuffed out when he waved his sword in its direction.
Also, this may not be really paranormal, but I believe I possess the ability to sense nearby objects and people, without visual or sound-based aid. Actually there are several alarms of sorts. I can feel nearby things on my skin, like a feather is gently swaying on a portion of my skin. There's also a kind of wierd flicker on my closed eyelids. It's not because of the light being blocked out by a person. It's like a multicoloredswarm of dots in a vague shape of a person in the general direction of a person. It's generally only discernable when there are few people around, and I could just be seeing things, but those flickers and senses on my skin are suprisingly accurate.
In any case. Paranormal activity is too, well, active to be suggested as completely false. Some people might lie about what they sense, but all of this paranormal genre is indeniably (in my book) plausible and existing. _________________ Hypothesis: Barrel > You
