Buying Action Figures, Its a tradition that me and my brother share
since the day of our birth, a testament to our brotherly bonds, plus you can re-inact cool battle scenes from your favorite shows!
Anyway I'm trying something new, I'm trying to make a figure of Max from
Shining Force Neo, and do "Stuff" to him
(cause I hate that archie andrews look-a-like).
I am using a bootleg Robin figure that I found a few days back but I'm still trying to find out how to make him more "Max" like. I have photos of him on my PC but I don't know how to post them, so far I've managed to paint his cape white and his chest green from the top, but I'm tryng to figure out how to make thing like accesories and etc. It would also be nice if I could find another figure (around maybe 5-6") incase I mess-up with this one.
Is there anyone here who has anytips one making these things?

I know that people doing their own models for Warhammer use something quaintly called "Green Stuff", but that's all I know of. I'm not exactly sure what it is though. I hope you're not planning on movable parts either because they'll be really difficult to work in.

As I recall, Sculpey clay was recommended to me once.

Well................yes i am, I know it will be difficult, but in the end,
VERY satisfying! I get to use and abuse Max in soooooooooooooooo
many ways...................yes..................
I as I said because I have no REAL experience making figures I'm re-molding a bootleg robin figure, but I'm having difficulties with the materials I need.
So far I have:
Acryllic Paint
Molding Clay
Sharpies
and I also have the things that you need to work with them like the brushes etc
anything else I should have? and any more advice?

If you want some fine detail, a modeling knife would probably be very handy.

And Shining Force is teh r0xx0rz, though I haven't played Neo yet. Good luck.

I have 'something' like that, and by 'something' I mean a strange I mean a
Paint-scraper/Putty knife/Roller cleaner/Crevice scraper/Knife
thingy, which looks like some strange aborigini killing tool, but I think I had a proper knife around here somewhere...........
I also have a question about modeling clay, I'm going to try and make some accessories with it so i'll have to probably bake it in an oven,
will it melt or will it harden?
also dude, get the game if you want to turn your brain into mashed potatos,
only less than 1/3 into the game and you'll feel like killing everyone IN the game and the people who worked on it.
(ESPECIALLY MAX AND HIS ANNOYING GIRLFRIEND!!!!)

Depends on the clay. Usually it'll be listed on the packaging.

Your best bet is probably to try ball and socket joints then, they're the simplest if I remember correctly.

Now you see... thats the weird part about this bootleg I got, the arm have 2 different joints. theres 1 ball joint and 1 ring joint, and by ring I mean that the arm snaps shut around a ring and moves left and right and uses a screw as a pivot. how am I going to change that? And I have also learned that using spray paint on plastic is a VERY BAD IDEA. my whole hand looked like it was stuffed into a bag of strange purple colored goo after I only did 4 parts, I thought it would be eaiser than painting, but I was wrong, but luckly it came out ok,
I managed to paint the cape white and the top of the torso green, and I also did the arms as, well they were already green but they didn't have max's glovey-thing over this hand. this would go alot smoother if there was a way to make a mold and melt some plastic to make the proper joints and parts.
