Reasons for why your favorite games, anime and manga are...

...your favorites. Aside from liking the artwork or a certain character, what's your reason for liking your favorite games, anime, and manga?

I like Captain Tsubasa so much for the following reasons:
-It's original. There aren't too many sports animes out there. The only other one I can think of is Prince of Tennis.
-Captain Tsubasa is a great role model for anyone! He inspired me to play soccer.
-I can relate to some of the characters in at least one way. Somewhat similar to Misugi Jun (one of the important characters/players); I am really good at soccer, but am lacking in stamina (although in Misugi's case, he has a heart disease).

On topic: There are actually quite a few sports animes out there. I've seen a lot through my local club though I don't like most of them. You ought to check out Touch, Yawara, Battle Athletes, Ashita no Joe or Slam Dunk if you like classics; these are readily available on (mostly VHS) fansub. For more recent stuff, I can think of Eyeshield 21 or Whistle, seen them around fansubbed by they may be licensed now.

These are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Anime-
The anime I'm currently watching are Full Metal Panic, Eureka Seven, and Busou Renkin.

I like Full Metal Panic because of the depth of art in it, and the humor. They somehow manage to justify the use of giant robots in a combat situation, and capture the mechs very well. If a mech rolls through mud, it gets dirty (unlike many of the Gundam series, where the Gundam seems to only get smudged while heavily damaged).

Eureka Seven has great music, memorable characters and humor, and makes me see things in a new light. The way love is dealt with in it, as well as relationships... it's just specatacular! The mecha are also very cool, though it mainly focuses on the Nirvash. I like the sports aspect of it, with the boards riding trapar, and like seeing the wave-riding mid-battle.

Busou Renkin is funny. Very funny! The characters aren't too groundbreaking, but then again, they are memorable. Nobuhiro Watsuki did very well making the show entertaining to watch. Just waiting to see what Papillon mask will do next is great! The characters later on, the villains, the strangeness. Just a great series!

Games-
Pokemon- Expansive customizing of Pocket Monsters, and hours upon hours of time spent breeding for the ultimate Pokemon make me list this as one of my favorite games. I swear, I've burned so many hours cycling away the stretch between Mauville city and Verdanturf town waiting for eggs to hatch, and eggs to be made!
