Half the day has gone by so I guess there's nothing wrong with this topic. XD What have been your favorite April Fools Jokes so far? I can say Google's TiSP (geek jokes for the win) and French-Bread's (developers of Melty Blood and RBO)
2D-fighting game of Fate Stay Night are two of my favorites.

Is this year's april fools joke the surfer speak thing? :D I think it's cool XD Tho last year it was kind of... bigger...

I like what they've done on StarTrek.com with loads of articles that are all just nonesense. Especially since there are people who actually believe it XD

The whole staff has been far busier this last week, so we couldn't really do the ones we wanted to do. =p

I still need to figure out the triggers too, hence why I'm not going to be posting fanfiction here today. XD

And as a matter of fact, I've seen several LJ communities that had their April Fools day jokes (although more than half of them ended up in bickering), and some other communities I frequent sort of fell flat. Oh well, next year will be better. *shrug*

To be honest I am not really one for April 1st jokes. Nor do I really remember them XD; Or go around to enough other places to see a lot of them online. But I will mention that the one here is making me giggles stupidly *snickers*

Oh, and I remember one at another forum I used to frequent, LOONNNG ago. On April 1st, everyone got moderator status without any real powers. It was...strange to say the least XD And I wouldn't really count it up there as any of my "favorites", but it certainly was memorable enough...

Edit: After being by Gaia Online today, I think I can safely say theirs is one of my favorites xDD

I don't usually do any, but this year I took part in two. Last night my brother and I had friends over, and our friend Chris and I told my brother that we were going out, and my brother's girlfriend was in on it.. and it was just very funny.

I also played one on one of my friend on the fourms here, NotJim, but he didn't fall for it. ;_; It's kind of mean so I don't really want to tell it, but he took it fine, as I knew he would. He's not one to get very angry.

I hate getting jokes played on me, though. It's sort of hypocritical, but I hate being made fun of. XD *shrugs* That's why I usually don't do anything.

All in all, a failry useless, but amusing none-the-less, holiday.

Yeah, this year has just been depressing. No creepy Wily in a bikini, only one real fake Megaman game announcement, no special subbed Axess episode (although that might be a good thing if we're talking anything like '04), no hot action figure on action figure action, no epic John Madden remix by Nobuo Uematsu, really nothing outstanding anywhere that I've seen. Plus the longtime radio announcer for the MN Twins passed away today (not a jo ke, of course [forget the filter when Im being serious]), and it's been raining for 5 days straight, so I'm just totally depressed today.

I did have some great faked PMs, like my firing from Puku fansubs and spam from Bubbleman.EXE, planned that were going to lead up to my departure from REO today, but Nobi popped in last night as I was handling the typing and, lucky me, screwed my plans to work on it through the evening. Plus [insert most lovely princess here] Mari's "Hi I'm back and this is no April Fools joke" took a little steam out of it too. Poor timing on my end... Sad

*Sigh*

Or is it just that the joke's on you that I DIDN'T do anything?!!! Twisted Evil

Revenge next year!

Google's TiSP joke is so far the win in my opinion for this year.

Dattebayo's "the government has secured this website" joke scared me to death (since I COMPLETELY forgot about today's date at the time), but pretty good in my opinion. Can't believe they got that much patience typing those stuff. =P

Slate has a link to a great article on the top 100 April Fool's jokes. =P They were pretty awesome. #1 is funny as hell and #40 made me giggle childishly. X3

Like I said, just bad timing on my part. If I would have thought it out before realizing April Fools was the next day, I wouldn't have failed miserably and been throwing stuff at my computer. Guess you'll just have to wait for another time for fake Ryouko to chew me out and claim we've been getting comments such as: the episodes I edit 'make the dubs from the 4Kids team look like the work of Shakespeare.' Wink

I actually looked up all the April fools jokes on wikipedia yesterday. Some were fun. Google always has a good joke.

I had this one planed for my uncle that involved manually trigering the safe lock switch that cuts off power to the fuel pump (it's a little switch near the passenger's feet on all ford vehicles made as early as 95'). Sadly, I never got around to calling my aunt to tell her how to do it.

...and now me getting back on topic, only with an April Fools joke gone wrong.

From the local news tonight. There was a Canadian couple (college students) who were coming back home from their spring break and they had a typical short layover here in Minnesota. The idiot guards felt like playing an April Fools gag. So they focused on a picture of the couple in their suitcase and started acting like it was something suspicious. A group of 3 of guards gathered around to look, called their supervisor over, and they told the couple they were under suspicion of being terrorists. The woman started getting angrier and angrier, then started having an asthma attack. Still, the guards carried on, making her feel like she was going for a weapon or something when she just needed to get her inhaler out. They patted them both down and did a full search for any kind of "suspicious evidence." Until they finally broke out laughing and told the couple it was all just a joke.

The couple said they plan to never visit the US again because of the ordeal they went through. Today, the supervisor mysteriously lost his job, although the airport would not comment why. Hmmmm, gee, I wonder... Rolling Eyes
