Okay.If anybody has been to some video game websites/forums as of lately, you'll have noticed that a new installment to Namco's Soul Calibur franchise has been announced for the Nintendo Wii system.Sounds like the same ol' routine of punch-up fighting with weapons 1 vs. 1 style, right?

Wrongo! It's now a 3rd person action/adventure game that will allow you to make use of the unique Wii controller to perform your attacks on enemies. As you gain more experience, you unlock more abilities and climb the ranks.

Characters from previous installments will be in the game, along with some new souls.Currently, only Ivy and Siegfried have been confirmed for this game.Ivy will be sporting her SCII P1 garb while Siegfried will be wearing his SCIII P1 armor.

The game is slated for a Winter 2007 release.

What do you think?

I think it's pretty sweet, actually. The adventure mode in SCII was plenty of fun; despite being a simple series of missions and backround descriptions, it certainly provided a nice alternative to charging through arcade mode over and over again. If Legends is anything like that, it'll be a blast. And who hasn't been waiting for the chance to swing the Wiimote around like a sword? (not counting Red Steel, naturally)

I have mixed feelings about the game. I just want super smash brothers brawl to come out.

I was excited until I heard it was a third person adventure game. I LOVE the Soul Calibur games with a passion....Soul Calibur for arcade/Dreamcast remains one of my favorite games of all time. But this...eh...I dunno. One-on-one fighting games translated into Gauntlet or Double Dragon style rarely works.

Also, how could anyone forget "Death by Degrees"? What a bad Tekken spin-off, and Tekken is a Namco franchise too. If Soul Calibur's spin-off is simliar to the Tekken one, this is one game we could all count out.

I bet this is gonna be like the Bleach Wii game.

Jack off with the Wiimote to win.

Eww..... *ahem* Anyway, I'm glad there's a SC game coming to the Wii. I said they have to. This will be a good substitute for SCIII.
