Top 10 Cheesiest Classic Game Commercials

They're mostly Atari games, and it's funny enough hearing them talk about the "realistic graphics." While the Zelda commercial at number one is rather bad, I personally think the Pole Position commercial is by far the greatest ever in terms of cheesiness. I can't stop watching that. I also have an urge to go find a Power Glove now, since I never owned one.

The Pole Position commercial goes beyond the realm of cheesy and well into BIZZARE, what with the Monty Python Hand of God reaching down, lifting the car 50 feet into the air, and shaking it as the screaming family falls to their doom. That is, of course, if they didn't land in a video game first.

Though with lines like "Hey! You look like a real jerk!" responded with "Well, I AM a corporate executive." and followed by an enthusiastic "He stops exciting things from happening!", I guess it is pretty cheesy too.

The Pole Position commercial certainly takes the cake. The aforementioned humor makes it quite interesting. Their use of artificial explosions as well as the pretty cheesy song in the background solidifies the ridiculousness of the commercial.

It was still pretty amusing, especially with the tagline "It'll put skidmarks on your SOUL!" It was 90 seconds, though, and it could have definitely been compressed into a 60 second spot, and maybe even a traditional 30 second spot.
