I've only played 3 and 4. I can't realy choose out of those 2. There is a otpic asking what is your fav rockman game so hopefuly this doesn't tie into that other wise this will unfortunatly be locked.

OK, here's my reasoning.

BN2: Top of the pack. Fabulous system, great chips, and abusable folders. *Huggles 'Gater wins' folder*
BN3: This is slightly below BN2. Has a bit less of the abusability of BN2, but still a rich storyline and MANY chips to find. Folder-building actually became interesting.
BN1: The classic starter. Great chips and nearly no restriction on folder-building (love those 10 HeroSwords), but the Internet IS very confusing, generic, and one can easily get lost here.

(Huge gap)

BN4: What happened, Capcom? This mediocre excuse for a game seems to have been rushed. Not to mention the AWFUL storyline and terrible translation ('The battler who tossed taside all the others?!'), the sprites are shrunken to uber-chibi sizes. The only redeeming quality of the game is that the folder-building is a lot more intricate, and allows for greater flexibility.

I have not gotten BN5 *eagerly waits NA release,* but I think I'll put it above BN4 for now.

Ya bnw4 does seem way different from the otheres. That's the only thing that I don't like about it. I don't care for some of their chips either and it seems harder to get them too.

If at all possible, get 1, then 2. For continuity purposes. The story and references of the later games will make more sense if you play them in order. At least if can only get one, get 2. You WILL NOT regret it.

Ya and in my opponion go for the blue version. If you want you can go for bnw5 but it will probably seem weird since you only played 3.

I kinda like 1 the best but overall, BN3 was the best, in my opinion. BN1 explained the storyline a bit more and it helped you understand the exe series.

From greatest game to least.

BN2 - can create abusable folders by adding in powerful chips
- Saito/Hub Style
BN3 - great storyline
- Shadow Style for Blue
- Serenade Giga Chip for White
- so many different chips to collect
BN1 - origin of Rockman.EXE/Megaman.EXE
- 2nd level Rockbuster charge
- no * code chips and most PAs involve more than 3 Battle Chips to create Sad
BN4 - Soul Unisons or DoubleSoul (pfft!)
- SP Navi chips increase power determining on how fast you defeat the navi (the max ATK shows when the navi is defeated under 10 seconds)
- Hell Hockey PA
- you fight Roll! Ha! About time we get to fight a girl
- no plot until the end of the tourneys Sad

Haven't played BN5 or Network Transmission yet.

Hey Protogirl. If you want, why don't you speak to Megaman by pressing the L button? He sometimes tell you what to do next after you finish a task.

Yeah. Sometimes he's a good source of information. If he couldn't help, I can always look in the guides in the gamefaqs site.

Anyway, for those who played Network Transmission or BN5, what chips or PAs there are most useful to you along the game?

>>* The Dark Sword in 5. ...Chaos Blues Soul to be exact. Infinite DreamSword style charged shots? Who needs a chip folder! o_O

But I really only use that for beating the crap out of V3 Navis for chips. XD

Seriously, though, the DreamSword is my best friend. >_>; Saboten Dance, too. Though that's not a one-chip-coded PA. *shrug*

LifeSword. I can't think of any time while I was playing 2, 3, or 4 where I haven't used Lifesword in one way or another.]

I also happen to like HyperRat a lot. Probably because I love my FlashRat folder.

I'd say BN3 because it has Serenade, Fortes past, Chisao, and Mamorou (How do you spell his name?).
