Repent! Repent! Armageddon is at hand!
Anyway, I've been using Safari for about an hour now. It's got its rough spots, but for a beta, it's working marvellously well. Check it out. _________________ *placeholder* |

It works pretty much just like Safari on OS X. I haven't had any stability issues with the beta so far, and it loaded every page I tried without any hiccups. Mileage may vary per person.
That said, Firefox is my main browser as well, and it's definitely not going anywhere any time soon. Pretty much every other browser I've come across is either too slim or too bloated, and with very limited extensibility.
Safari is definitely something I'd install for my dad, though. It's as straightforward as any browser gets. _________________ *placeholder* |

I'm a Mac user myself, but I still use Firefox. It's free, open-source, works great, is very safe and secure... and Adblock is a must.
The new Safari looks very promising and Safari does support CSS and web standards more faithfully than most browsers - Safari can pass the Acid2 test...
I've read that Safari for Windows has a number of security issues... but it's a) on Windows, and b) a Beta... so that's no surprise.
Once the final version of Safari 3 is out, it might indeed be a very good browser.
Now if only they'd bring iChat to Windows... or allow AIM to do 3 and 4-way video conferencing, as opposed to just 1-on-1. _________________

well, i am an Opera user (am i the only one here?) and i started using Safari yesterday. i make edits to my webpages in Opera and for some reason, they look a little messed up in Internet Explorer. they look great in Firefox as well so i tried it in Safari and it's pretty close to how it actually looks and the load times are close to nil. btw, i saw Opera was ranked last on the speed performance test on the Apple site but it's fast for me. anyhoo, for a beta it is pretty good. |

As far as features of Safari go, I've noticed a few in Safari 3 were copied from Firefox 2. I'd have to say that of all the OSS apps out there, Firefox is probably the only one that's really ahead of the competing commercial solutions.

Don't worry, you are not; I am also an Opera browser user. (Since Firefox eats way too much of my precious RAM sometimes and IE7 is ... well, made by microsoft.)
Downloading the Beta currently. Hopefully it'll be the same experience as when I use it on the MAC OSX.
EDIT: Just got it and quickly switched over to this yet again. Runs very smoothly and very simple - clearly better than the other 3 in simplicity.
Browsing across many sites and still no bugs so far and top speed - possibly going to be my new browser for the rest of the year.
EDIT2: Forget what I said. After around 3 minutes it hogged RAM like a pig. (~99 MB)
Going back to Opera. :x _________________

Well that's really irritating but whatever. every other browser is better than IE in my opinion.
