does anyone use Foobar? i came across this musc player a couple of months ago (about 2?) and have been using it ever since. the cool thing about it is that there are a crapload of plug-ins you can use with it to make it look however you want. HOWEVER, when you first download it it looks pretty plain and there are no manuals that come with it. there are tutorials on certain messageborads like Hydrogen Audio (i think that's the name). anyhoo, here's my Foobar setup. i use MP3Tag for my ID3 tagging if anyone wanted to know.

if this is too big admins, resize it please. i don't know the code to do that Wink

1) ew mac

2) That looks like a cheap iTunes ripoff. And by cheap...I mean really cheap. >_>

I'll stick to Zune player kthx D:

[EdiT for SynchY] 1) I do hate mac, lol. What about 'ew mac' could be rephrased better.

2) It really *does* look like a watered down version of iTunes. I'm not saying that is sucks or anything, it's just that the first thing I thought of when I looked at it was 'lol itunes'.

w/e D:

...You know, Sai, that could be rephrased a little bit better, since it sounds like all the reason you hate it is just because it looks Apple-ish.

I've heard a few good things about it, but I 've never bother to get it. (winamp for the win!) Anyway, looks really nice. Might get it for fun someday.

Hmm, it looks like a ok program, really haven't found a reason to use it yet so I have nothing good or bad to say about it.

Also, Linux PWNS All

It's not like iTunes did anything particularly new. It just bundled existing features into a package, only the online store is a new novelty.

I'm a Winamp fan myself, mainly because of all the great plug-ins and DJ capabilities. Winamp beats the pants off iTunes when it comes to crossfading and the like.
But ever since I got my MacBook Pro (and yes, I'm a Mac user :P), I just use iTunes. It plays my music, runs very quickly and smoothly, and CoverFlow is just so much fun to look at and use :3 Not to mention the fact that I own an iPod, so iTunes is a must anyways.

if you're talking about the icons on transparent bar thingy (i forget what Mac calls it) i like it (it's called RocketDock) and i like it so there.

also, the only reason my current configuration looks like iTunes is because i made it that way. it can seriously look like anything you want. if you go to DeviantArt and search for foobar, you will see a lot of other cool configs.

I use it and wouldn't use anything else. What I like most about it is the ability to assign hotkeys to every single function in the program - no other music player gives you that ability. Plus, it comes pre-bundled with codecs for almost every audio type imaginable. The few missing ones can be downloaded from sites listed on the main application site. Of course, the lack of direct CD burning is a bit annoying, but hey, you can't have everything.

hah, yeah that's true. i wouldn't be surprised if someone figured out how to make a plugin for burning though.
