While I understand that you guys have lives outside of the site, I was just wondering if anything new for the site is to be expected any time soon. You can't spend all your time updating the site, but it has been a long time since anything new was done. Other than minor editing of existing material (such as out-of-date character pages), it seems that PukuAnime is the only thing being worked on. You guys said you would provide information concerning Ryuusei because Rockman ended, but that was said many months ago, and Beast+ is barely even covered yet outside of the incomplete list of episode summaries. Every time I feel like saying this, something comes up that makes me think is what caused the delays (the hacking of the site, the server move, injuries, etc.), but in the end, I always end up disappointed because after something happens, this site isn't updated while PukuAnime's progress hasn't seemed to differ much. I don't mean to criticize any staff because I know you guys try your best and work hard, but I really do think you guys should focus more on the site instead of just subbing. I really don't want the site to die, but it seems like it is on that path.

I don't want to sound like a broken record, nor sound like the mean cookie of the block, but alas, I must.

Two words: REAL LIFE.

I am in no position to fully describe the situation, but currently Ryouko is going through a very, very taxing period in her life outside of the net, she's left with very little free time left these days.

It may not be an injury, it may not be a hacking, it may not be a server move, but unfortunately, Ryouko is a working woman whose real life situations, needs and difficulties come before the website's that was made as a hobby, for fun, and as a means to share her love for a certain series.

It would be awesome from all of us, visitors, fans and alike if we could leave aside our fan-thing for a moment and remember Ryouko, just like any of us is a human being that has other duties and worries that are more pressing than the updating or mantainance of a website.

This site was made for fun, and although Ryouko appreciates and is thankful for all the support and favour from the fans and visitors, the pressure put forward makes things that used to be fun into a job. Once the hobbies become a job, it's not fun anymore, and one is less willing to dedicate the scarse free time to that job. Sincerely, Ryouko doesn't need this, this site alone consumes much of her time, of her money and of her life. I think a little break from it in these times of distress does not mean the site's going to die. I think not having the time right now to do updates in this site doesn't mean it'll die.

I understand you'd like to see more things happening in the site, but overall, the problems in real life take priority over REO. Ryouko has never stopped caring or worrying over it, but right now, Subbing efforts are the few things she has the time and team to work for.

Sincerely, if the only 'excuses' we can think for the site to not be updated lately are 'injuries, hackings or server moves', then... either we have very comfortable life styles we're enjoying, or we aren't being realistic.

I know you don't mean anything ill with this, but I think it's time we all understand this site is a behemoth that needs a lot of work, but also a hobby, and that sometimes we have to wait, be patient and understand the issues outside of our fan-things come first. Sorry for the rant, but really, the best way to show support for this site and not seeing it die is be patient.

The honesty of it is, I've graduated from college, and have thus begun to work my ass off in order to pay bills and student loans. It's not uncommon for me to be working three jobs, and never less than two.

August should be a slow month for me, so I plan to get the entirety of the Beast+ screencaps completed, and the episode summaries finished out. I have some neat and rare Japanese artwork to also upload from the animation studio, including an entire sketch sequence from the opening of Stream.

So yes, there's stuff coming. :) I'm really sorry for the delay. I just can't afford to ignore my real life obligations right now.

While there really shouldn't need to be anything said after Ryouko posted, I thought I would add this:

Even though you said it seemed that nothing was being worked on, and mentioned the part about Ryuusei, this site can only be as good as the community that makes it up. While there has not been much activity on the main page front, I think you should be able to get your information fix here on the forums. Whether or not it's been Seiko listing new episode titles, NumberGirl giving some translations for the episode summaries, me trying to keep up with screencaps and pans, Sketch informing that the Star Force dub was online, and many others doing their part, there is work being done for people who visit REO, not solely by Ryo. Still, much of the same main page stuff you sound like you're looking for.

I can understand why you'd like to see more activity on that end. I'm also sure that there would be people willing to help out Ryouko if she felt like asking for it. But REO is more than just the main page. If the site really was on the path towards disappearing, I'd think you wouldn't see the activity that you do on the forum. Granted it's been slower recently, yes, but the EXE series ending played a role in that as well.

While I have no doubts that you are aware of this already, I just wish to state that I was not directing this at Ryouko. I understand that Ryouko has been busy, and I know that real life is much more important than the site, but Ryouko isn't the only staff member. She might be the owner, but there are others who contribute as well. Many people, staff and fans alike, contribute to the site. Whether it is an episode summary from Heatman or a fan creation from a guest, I don't see how Ryouko's real life is causing this lack of updates. Everyone has a real life and this site can't be priority number one, but I would be shocked if no one at all has time to help the site or at least add things to the main page.

I can't say I am an active forum member, and I don't know anyone directly, so I just gave the situations that I was aware of. I knew that the examples I gave weren't the only things happening, but they were the few things I knew about.

I have been patient for a while and I don't mind continuing to do so. Like you said, I meant no ill when I made this topic; I just wanted to have my questions and concerns addressed, and it seems like I have.

I am sorry to hear how stressful things are right now for you. I hope things will get better for you. Smile

Great! I'll be looking forward to the updates. Can't wait to see the artwork! You don't need to apologize though. REO can wait, but real life waits for no one. If you need any help, I hope I can be of assistance somehow.

The only reason I mentioned Ryuusei is because I think taking on an entire new series when the current one wasn't finished was going to be challenging. I was gonna explain with an expression, but it sounded really corny so I left it out. Razz

As for the community, I am glad that everyone is pitching in. I'll have to pay more attention to the forums, but if the information is already there, I don't see why it hasn't been added to the main page yet (Ryouko may be busy, but she isn't the only admin who can update the site I assume).

I guess saying that the site looks like it is on the path of disappearing was exaggeration on my part. xP

Actually, I *am* the only one with access to updating the main site. The only section updated manually by someone else is the guest fanart, which is operated by Tabby.

Poetry can be placed under the umbrella of regular fanfiction, and can thus be placed at that forum. It doesn't matter if the work is prose or poetry--both are creative works from authors. So why segregate them?

Plus...not to jump to too hasty conclusions, but too often fan-poetry, at least in EXE, is written by people who only think they can write. While there's some leeway for quality in fanfiction if the plot is good, most poetry I've encountered consists of people attempting to be emo through different characters' viewpoints. There's really no point in creating an entire section for that.

I'm a bitch D:
