I haven't done an episode summary in a long time and I don't really know Japanese but personally I really liked this episode. Although lacking action, it contained several very nicely animated scenes. (Reminding me very much of Shingo Adachi)
The episode begins when Cancer Bubble sneaks into the room of Opichious. While in there he knocks something over and then finds (I'm not sure) her savings.
The next scene takes place high in a tower. The real Luna is looking through the glass at the city before her, holding a basket with a special prepared meal in it. Subaru walks out of the elevator behind her. They talk a bit, Luna probably explains that she is waiting for Rockman and that she has something for him. Subaru doesn't really know what to think of it, Luna then starts to yell Rockman's name several times, hoping he can hear her. Subaru seems a bit unsure, but because he is Rockman he is probably wondering what to do as his experience with Luna's cooking wasn't really great, to put it mildly.
The next scene is probably one of the weirdest ones I've ever seen in the series so far. A giant iceberg attacks the city, oh wait, Cancer Bubble is standing on top of it. He really acts weird, well, weirder than usual. The iceberg is slowly moving through the streets, people fleeing in all directions.
The scene switches to Opichious, who has just found out that her money is gone. She quickly discovers that Cancer is behind all this. She also looks at her computer, I get the impression that she was saving for a special machine or device and that someone else has now bought it. In this case, Cancer. Expectantly, she is furious. Important to note is that the device is now connected to a large refrigerator part (at least it looks like it, I lack a better description), which in turn has created a huge iceberg around itself.
Back to Cancer, I have no idea why he acts this weird, but it is almost as if all that ice has gone to his head.
Goyoda and the Satellite Police try to stop Cancer but the crazy FM just orders his iceberg to crush the police and their cars ahead of him. The police flees and their cars are destroyed.
Luna and Subaru arrive on the scene. Luna runs away and immediately starts to call out Rockman's name but then finds herself in the direct path of Cancer's huge iceberg. She starts running away but accidentaly lets go of the basket. She manages to catch it in time but also falls to the ground, at this point she is unable to get away from the huge mountain approaching her. All this time Cancer is laughing and dancing on the top like crazy.
Just in time Rockman appears, puts himself between Luna and the ice and fires a shot to halt the iceberg, almost making Cancer falling of. Luna is glad to see her hero, but Rockman tells her to run to safety which she immediately does.
Cancer orders the iceberg to attack, Rockman fires several blasts, resulting in several dents in the huge ice formation. However, thanks to the refrigerator part and the strange device attached to it, the dents are 'healed' within seconds. Rockman then uses a battlecard to activate a kind of bomb which blows a huge hole into the berg, once again making Cancer almost falling of. Still, it has no effect as the hole is healed once again, making the iceberg solid and complete again.
Cancer retaliates by using his trademark attack (Boomerang Cutter?) and hits Rockman directly. Luna who was watching from a distance sees this and shouts something to Cancer, I don't know what she said but it makes the FM very angry as he attacks her two times with his Boomerang Cutter. I don't know if he wanted to hit her or not because she avoids the two attacks, although barely. While Rockman apparently could not avoid them. Cancer then leaves with the iceberg, laughing maniacally.
Cancer is feeling very pleased with himself until Opichious appears behind him, and she is really, really mad, and Cancer looks really, really scared. In the conversation that follows (I really wish I knew Japanese and I know I shouldn't be doing summaries if I can't understand the language, if someone knows please share with us the translation. I would be very grateful) With Opichious and Cancer being distracted Rockman uses Starforce and fires a huge blast while in Leo form (IIRC the same drawing as used in the episode with Wolf and the little girl, it was the fight in the arena, too bad they couldn't draw a new scene for this) Cancer tries to warn Opichious that Rockman is about to attack but she is so angry that she doesn't care.
Rockman Leo fires and destroys the core of the iceberg. Before the mountain explodes Opichious teleports herself and Cancer away, I really don't want to know what she is going to do to him at this point. She looks so incredibly angry, almost if she is going to explode.
The iceberg shatters into pieces and Luna is almost crushed but Rockman saves her in time and holds her carefully in his arms.
After this rather random stuff (IMHO) with the iceberg the scene shifts to a beautiful park. With Luna and Rockman. She kindly offers him the basket but also looks a bit away, as if afraid that Rockman might not accept it.
Then they are sitting together on a bench were Rockman opens the basket. Luna had made a special meal with Rockman's face on it but due to the chaos with Cancer the face lines had been ruined. Luna is really sad but I have a feeling that Rockman said it isn't a problem at all and he understands. However, he then realized he has to eat it and he probably remembers what happened before as Subaru prettty well. Still, he doesn't want to disappoint Luna so he takes a bite. (He looks funny with his mouth full) I get the impression it tastes actually quite good and he appears surprised about that. He then eats the rest of the meal while Luna watches and looks very happy.
The other Luna, Opichious, is not happy at all as she is crying on her bed. The other FM's appear and seem to offer her their savings. I don't know what they say, but if they had good intentions Opichious doesn't see them as such. She becomes furious and as the scene pans out to the outside she begins to scream real hard.
We then see the real Luna watching television, the same program that gave her the idea that cooking would help with love. Now the program apparently advises that working hard in the house, or at least vacuum cleaning, is also a good idea.
In the next scene, Luna enters Subaru's room while the boy is still sleeping. Subaru wakes up as Luna starts to vacuum his room. Understandably, the boy is not happy with this, but Luna just continues. The scene pans out to Subaru's mother who is smiling. In the end Subaru screams 'Warrock!" I think Luna's vaccuum cleaner just sucked up the PDA with the FM in it. A funny scene to end a nice episode.
===========
Despite being filler, I quite enjoyed this one. I liked to see Luna and Rockman together like that. Those scenes were very well done and very well drawn. (I'm not sure but I recognize the style of the person who did for example episode 26 and 27 (with the return of Cygnus Wing, I believe Shingo Adachi?) Very well done and IMHO they couldn't have picked a better artist for that scene.
A feel good episode, with several cute moments and a funny ending. The animation overall was great. The iceberg stuff seemed kind of random though. But still, one of my most favorite filler episodes now. _________________ This great avatar is made by Synchro-kun. Thank you! |

Actually, I heard other things getting sucked up into Luna's vacuum at the end. Well, she's got a whole army of servants. So seeing as she had no clue how to cook in the previous episode, what was there to say that she knew how to vacuum by the end of this one? And for that matter, how does Luna intend to impress Rockman with vacuuming when she doesn't even know where he lives? _________________

*9/8 EDIT* Doesn't appear to be any pans other than one of Rockman that was so short it was useless to do. So no pans for this episode. Episodes 42 and 46 have been done and are in their respective talkback threads. Will alert you in the next episode summary thread when 43-45 are uploaded. */EDIT*
Heaven or Hell? Let's Rock...man! But now I'm confused. Where was W Luna's Heaven in this episode? Seemed like she was just in hell throughout. Regular Luna may have been in heaven, but I thought the W just stood for transformed Ophiuchus.
Just like last week, there were many unmistakable Adachi images, even if it was another animator who got the credit. And there were so many wacky and beautiful scenes that I loved every second of it. Although, when the FMs (or W's if you'd rather) try to apologize to W Luna at the end, I couldn't help but think "Muppets" when I saw how those guys were drawn.
And I agree with AMZ on that last point. Trying to clean for him will be a much bigger challenge. And yet she apparently didn't try at her mansion first this time. Well, I guess starting off in a smaller place would be easier.
Yum, Yum, Yum, delicious episode!
In fact, this episode was so good that Cancer had two mouths and tongues to lick away! I don't know why I capped this, but I did:

These fillers have been kinda annoying, but I have to admit this one was funny. And as Rock Miyabi said, Shingo Adachi's touch was ALL OVER this episode.
On a side note, Cancer was just creepy in this episode. O.o; _________________

This is TRULY a great filler arc. I like how Opiuchus reacted to Cancer's theft. I couldn't believe that he would use an ICEBURG!! What is up with that? Oh, I belive luna called Cancer a kani, which would mean crab. Unusually enough, he go far as to harm her for calling him a crab, even though he is one. This episode makes me ROFL. |

Actually, I thought one of Rockman's comments from Axess about Bubbleman fit Cancer quite well for this episode.
"Netto-kun! Don't tell me that retard is scaring you..."
Cancer Bubble, he is truly indeed a carbon copy of Bubbleman. From the endings of his sentences to the demented plans. _________________

It could just stand for the two Luna's. Every time I've seen that convention pop up in a videogame, it was using two items, or spells, or whatever at a time instead of one. And this episode and the last one were about both Luna's not just one the one.

Small place, and Subaru's mom did such a great job of teaching her to cook so Luna probably went back to her for help with other domestic stuff. Given she doesn't know to not vacuum a room when someone is trying to sleep in it, she probably needs the help. |

What the hell did I just watch? Ice Age 3: Nature Strikes Back? The Crab Man Cometh?
They shouldn't have billed these as Ophiuchus eps, since the only thing she did was provide a chance to whore out Cancer Bubble even more.
I thought that these two episodes were rather pointless, even though they went about it being very pretty. Least we're almost out of the filler doldrums. The next two look promising, but then again, so have others.
It looked like that was a can of liquid nitrogen attached to the machine. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

hehe, i actually thought it looked like a wii remote. but, this episode was funny. Oh yeah one comment i haven't mentioned yet, does anyone notice that war-rock sort of resembles zero. but, that's just a thought. i do hope the next episode is better though. |
