Title Screen: Negative Energy

Starts out with a flashback to Warrock speaking up about Daigo at AMAKEN, and the discovery of part of the space station. Then we're shown Subaru and Warrock sitting by the river's edge (Subaru still has that dinkly bike). The water looks pretty. They have a heart to heart chat. Warrock thinks about the fight ahead.

Cute! The girl Mai is playing with Ricky from 39, and Wolf is watching from the Wave Road. He seems content, until someone electrocutes him. Gemini Spark bring their hands down...

Mai looks up at an odd noise. There's nothing on the Wave Road but Wolf's armor. He's gone. Ricky whimpers. The Key is now roughly one third full. Andromeda's eyes are now glowing.

Next we're in the mall where Juurou was taken over by Wolf in 20-21. Ophiuchus, as W-Luna, is shopping for clothes it seems. She's having fun too. She buys a lot of hats. In the atrium, she gets shocked too, reverting back to her FM form. It's Gemini Spark again. They delete her too.

At FM HQ W-Ikuta has packed up all of his possessions into boxes, trying to decide what he should do with them. He's shocked from behind, and turns back to Libra, but he's surrounded. Gemini Spark leap together and delete him with Gemini Thunder. The only ones left are Cancer and Crown, says Spark White.

At AMAKEN, one of the workers notifies Amachi that there's a problem. They've managed to locate Andromeda. The man punches it up on the viewscreen, and we see it frozen in the iceberg. It's eyes are glowing, and there are several more cracks in the surface. Looks like it's time for Utagai to roll out his secret weapon.

The secret weapon is none other than the Star Carrier, an upgraded Wave Scanner that will be used throughout SF2 and also Tribe. It'll give Rockman a big boost in combat, and even seems to sport a function allowing the user to seach for the optimal chip to use against a virus. A Wide Wave against a Hot Roader, for instance. The holographic touch screen can even function like a Visualizer!

Elsewhere, Misora is singing Heart Wave to herself.

On the monorail, we see one Luna and co. riding. Can't really make out what they're saying though. A ways down, W-Chiyokichi and W-Jean are seated (a little boy is playing with one of the arrows, and breaks one off). W-Jean teases his junior a while with one of Misora's CD's (complete with holographic cover). W-Chiyokichi's gets pissed (The little boy tries putting the arrow back). W-Chiyokichi finally manages to swipe the CD, but the two are forced back to their FM forms by a lightning strike. The other passengers are able to get a quick glimpse of them before they wave out.

The two FMs confront Gemini Spark on the Wave Roads. Spark White dangles the Andromeda Key before them. The two are confused, of course. Spark Black makes a very weird looking face as he begins to explain. The Nagative Energy comes from killing other FMs! Spark Black quickly impales Crown from behind, but not before he shouts for Cancer to escape, which he does, screaming.

At AMAKEN, Worrock suddenly hears Cancer, and goes outside. Cancer runs right into him, babbling about how Gemini killed Crown and everyone else. He begs to be saved. Andromeda starts to glow, and the ice begins to rumble...

The episode ends here, but there's a preview! Rockman and Tsukasa face off outside (!), Subaru uses Elemental Cyclone, Harp gets zapped, and Subaru, in midair, almost gets nailed by Rocket Knuckle. Finally, a large purple beacon of light is shown from space.

This is followed by a quick promotion for Tribe.

This was a pretty good episode. There wasn't much in the way of fights, so Adachi resorted to putting in little details like the boy playing with W-Jean's arrow, prettying up the river, and Libra's armor rolling around on the floor after he was deleted to give it that Adachi feel.

Next week has a new art director, Chikaoka Noa. According to robo, s/he does prop design for Ryuusei, and was the art director for an episode of Gurren Lagann. Even in LQ, it looked pretty good, judging from the preview.

Thanks so much for the summary. I'm just ridiculously disappointed that NicoDouga no longer allows uploads of Ryuusei episodes so this does satiate my curiosity for the time being.

G. Spark's manhunt sounds pretty epic - Can't wait to watch it.

EDIT: Seen it. Was even more awesome than I hoped. <3

Watch me predict the last three episodes: So, like, Andromeda re-awakens, and bad stuff happens, but then, Cepheus, in a blaze of glory, will 1) come down and stop Andromeda, 2) Revive the killed FM-Seijin, and 3) be so pissed at Gemini for disobeying his orders, that he'll kill him. (by the way, in literature, we call that a Rex ex Machina.) Tsukasa will then pass out and wake up later to find himself suffering from Plothole Amnesia and won't be able to remember anyone or anything, and he'll be all nice again. Everyone, except Cygnus and Gemini, will then live happily ever after into the next season. The end. Until Tribe starts. xP

The episode was great, yet somewhat powerful. Do you think Cancer might become one of Warrock's allies?

I understand if you're trying to be careful and you don't want to give a direct link, but could you please be a little more explicit? I just searched with every tag known to man that deals with Ryuusei and I couldn't get anything. Unless the ep's already been removed.

Hmm, I wouldn't call this ep amazing. Great, yes, awesome even, but amazing... I don't know. I don't get an 'amazing' feel from it. It was still really good though. I'm looking forward to next week more though, since it seems that Subaru finally learns Tsukasa'a secret, and the new art director could be the next Adachi, if what I saw in the preview carries over for the whole episode.

Once screencaps come out, I'm so gonna make that face Spark Black made my new avatar. It looked like he got sucked into another anime and came back looking like that!

I wonder why everyone, including myself, has been translating it as "Negative Energy" when it's obviously "Minus Energy."

Next episode, I just want to see Subaru's reaction, which is that he'll probably explode.

Negative Energy also sounds more menacing than Minus Energy. Minus Energy implies that it's... not there while Negative can be interpreted as bad energy.

Anyway, I think that Cepheus will come down but the Andromeda key isn't full by that time, so he forces Gemini out of Tsukasa, pushes Tsukasa off a building, making Rockman dive for the sucker, then proceed to kill Cancer and Gemini, if Cancer didn't try to help Rockman, to fill up the Andromeda key. And then Cephy sics Andromeda on Rock, who defeats it somehow. Cephy learns some implied lessons and takes the dead FM Seijin's armor back to the FM planet and will probably revive them there, which could fill up a plothole if any of them show up again in Tribe.

But it's unlikely :[

I found the deletions quite sad actually (am I the only one?). For once, the FM seijin are doing normal stuff and having fun, and they die for it. Just when they grew on me too... Sad

This ep was rather interesting. I couldn't help but giggle at Utagai's enthusiasm about the Wave Scanner. ^^ Gemini Spark is certainly moving along with his plans rather quickly now. And yes I did feel rather sorry for the FM seijin.

Next Ep looks really good. It looks like Subaru finally finds out that Tsukasa is really Gemini Spark W... certain to be an emotional rollercoster there.

I wonder how Subaru is going to react to Tsukasa's betrayal...if it's anything like the game, this isn't gonna be good for him. Not to mention I really don't wanna see Harp go, she's so awesome!

Well if Malik's hypothesis proves true, then I don't think we'll need to worry about that.

Besides, Harp's not a villain anymore so she's got a better chance of survival than the other FMs.

A very interesting episode with a darker storyline. I never expected that the FMs would be killed off this way. It was very nice to see Ricky again, that was a nice touch. I feel sorry for the FM's, they did not deserve this fate.

The next episode sounds very intriguing, as it seems Tsukasa's real identity will finally be revealed. And with Cancer escaped, Gemini Spark has to choose a more difficult target, Harp. I really look forward to the next episode. Hopefully it is done well, with the same kind of emotional feel as episode 27.

I'm halfway through, the zip will be edited in here tomorrow probably.

Knowing how the armor thing worked after last week, I kinda wondered how Cancer's death would be handled. Since more than any of them, he had very little wave body. Seems perhaps they figured the same thing and decided to spare him for now. Very enjoyable art-wise, although kinda sad to see the FMs getting picked off as they were.
