With "Jericho" cancelled again with no return in sight,I got to thinking. What shows did you enjoy on TV that were cancelled for no reason? Here's a list of my favorites that may bite the dust soon or are close to being cut short:
Legion of Super Heroes-Final episode airs April 5th.*wails*
Moonlight-The internet has been buzzing that the CBS drama will be cancelled by May.*crossing fingers that it won't*
That's mainly it,as I don't watch much TV...Go nuts and share! _________________ Things are going to be changing soon in the next few months.Stay tuned for updates and the like. |

Yu Yu Hakusho (The dub, I mean....Well, I did end up seeing the rest on the DVDs, but that was pretty messed up how they just stopped showing it on toonami)
Samurai Jack -- What I hear is that every episode got shown at like 5 AM and then it was never shown again. D:
Umm...not many else, I think. I don't watch much TV these days.
Oh right.
Filter on G4 Tech TV. D: What the hell is wrong with them. They keep putting on these crapy non-gaming shows in place of quality gaming programming... >_> _________________ The time is come. Bid farewell to your bloodstained past.

Whose Line Is It Anyway? Sure, it's still rerunning on ABC Family, but no new episodes have been taped in years. The only "new episodes" ever on ABC Family were actually just compilations of games that were cut out of previous episodes.
Also, all sorts of game shows. They often get revived, but revivals seem to have a tendency to suck compared to the originals. For example, the original Press Your Luck was awesome; "Whammy! The All New Press Your Luck" seemed kitschy and wasn't nearly as good. (Honestly, what kind of a prize is $300 worth of M&Ms?) _________________ Math problems? Seconded to Poochy's comment.
Added to the list of revivals that don't really live up to the original should be
Temptation: a revival of the classic 80s $ale of the Century (which supposedly is only on the air for another season because of the discounts that they offer on merchandise offered to the players), the rule changes seem to make it pander to less intelligent viewers. I loved to play along with Perry's version--the newer version has too many questions about pop culture and not enough on general knowledge.
Chain Reaction: a revival of a show of the same name from the past. The concept is good, but the host has the charisma of a sack of beans. Sadly, it seems that a lot of the hosts these days have that.
Let's Make a Deal: NBC ordered 5 episodes. 3 never made it to air. It was far more raunchy than the Hall version, and really turned off a lot of fans.
Granted, there have been rather successful remakes (Lingo comes to mind), but most have just...flopped.
On the other hand, most "modern" game shows all focus on large pots and suffer in gameplay. Games like Show Me the Money, The Moment of Truth, and Set for Life mostly focused on the sex appeal (mostly for the first of the listed), and are often self-contained--there really is no way for the contestant to "play along" with the games.
My only hope is that in the trickle of new game shows that will come into play, at least *one* of them will be good enough so that I can look back 20 years into the future upon this moment and think that the show I watched then was a classic. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! Whose Line is It Anyway
I mean what the hell, it just stopped. It wasn't getting old, it just sort of dissapeared. I haven't seen an episode of it in YEARS. I always look around for re runs, but I've never found any.
Poochy, when is it on? _________________

No.
It has been relegated to midnight, Eastern time, assuming that other programming does not preempt its timeslot, assuming that the DirecTV guide doesn't lie. And it remains on ABC Family. For how long, I am unsure. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! But they'll have to avoid the Whammy, as they play the most exciting game of their lives! Arrested Development
Although the show slipped a bit in the 3rd season because they knew that they were getting cancelled, I thought it was one of the funniest shows and I really enjoyed watching it. _________________ Name shortened from Serenade.exe |

That I really have to agree with. I'd make a remark about the whole network of Tech TV and/or G4 but I think we all know that line anyway. |

BEYBLADE. X( God that show got screwed over and over and over and now we don't even get any second season DVDs nor the rest of the third season ones. So if you didn't see the dub of the second and third seasons when they were on TV, you're screwed now. Ugh I get mad just thinking about it. |

Well we got three seasons right? They were all on TV because I remember seeing them and they even showed a movie because I remember it was on before one of the digimon movies. So what's the problem Dranzer mod? |

Speaking of animes, I've seen one anime that 4Kids screwed up big time that got cut halfway, F-Zero GP Legend (F-Zero Falcon Densetsu in Japan). I liked that show very much, even though it didn't show so many episodes. That, of course, is my opinion. _________________ As a Deviant, I work alone on my projects.

Yeah. And I think they did Ultimate Muscle like that too. But from what I read, they might not have "liked" the other episodes. And would have to basically put the film in buckets if digital paint to take out anything they thought they might have had to change. |

Samurai Jack and Firefly.
Like, seriously now TV gods, what the hell?
One, an animated action/adventure show that WASN'T built specifically for kids, had an excellently-executed and imaginative design, could pull off both epic action sequences and comedy routines, had wonderful music and utilized all elements of the media (how many other shows could get away with occasional episodes that had almost no dialog?).
The other, easily the best character-driven drama I have ever seen. Comedy, action, romance, witty dialog, good character development, it had all you could ask for in a show and more.
And they both got canned. Was that someone's ill-conceived idea of a joke? _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

Uh, considering the fact that if you didn't record the second season or the rest of the third season when it was on TV, you're pretty much utterly screwed if you want to see it. I would call that a problem. >:/ |

Well then. Thank you for the explanation. Also, that is weird about Jack. But, Aku's voice actor is dead now though. |

ReBoot is the first one that comes to my mind. Mainframe Entertainment had started working on a fourth season and had already produced eight episodes, but then they stopped. I REALLY wanted to see what sort of plot they would have. And for that matter, I really liked Megabyte's new design.
Then there's Shadow Raiders. Two really good seasons, but the ending was just way too inconclusive. Blokk died and the Beast Planet continued to live on, devouring worlds, that much everyone knows. But what happened to Lamprey and Voyd?
Back in grade 4, Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad was my favorite TV show. Yes, I know the action sequences inside the digital world were taken from the Japanese version, Gridman. But seriously, they never showed the final battle with Kilokahn. _________________

you guys reminded me of some shows. ReBoot, Firefly, and Thank God You're Here are the ones i really liked.
Thank God You're Here was really an original show, and it could have gone so much further, yet we got, what, four or five episodes? that pissed me off. _________________ just call me xfyre. not xfyrethespooky. |

Reboot is a second from me. And they did show the final fight AMZ. But, then they went back to an earlier version of him. So it was kind of pointless. |
