personally, I think that she's a girl. I figured maybe some ppl thought that she was a guy because of her title as "Lord" But a woman who is a ruler is called a King, not a Queen, a queen is just the King's wife, and that may be the same as how she is called Lord.
What do you ppl think?

It looks like a girl. But the games refer to it as a male. Then the Manga complete turns around and refers to it as both male and female. So just say it's beyond gender.
And no, when a female rules on country in a monarchy, they are Queen. However in games/anime/manga it seems they always refer to females as kings for some unknown reason, I don't know why.
And again, Lord would be male only, Lady is the term for female.

hmm, well, I dunno, cause like in Fate Stay Night, Saber is a King.
like in my country as well, we call a person "Datuk" (a respected person) and his wife is called a "Datin" a Datin is only his wife so she did not help the country in any way. If a female takes the title of "Datuk" means that the female is the one who contributed to the country. (Of couse, we don't call her husband "Datin" lol)
well, I have BN 1,2 and 3 on my comp but the game can't be saved so I never see Serenade in the games. lol

And a Datuk isn't on the same level as a monarch.
Here's how it works; The son of a King and queen is called a prince, while the daughter is a princess. If the male ascends, he becomes the King and his wife is called Queen. If the female ascends, she becomes Queen, and her husband becomes the prince consort.

Well, in my country (Poland) it was different in the times of Monarchy (Which by the way were few hundreds years ago). Here in Poland, when princess Jadwiga ascended, she was referred to as "King Jadwiga". (But that was in Medieval. We have president now  )

In Jadwiga's case, she was technically Queen, but she was crowned a King to make a political statement that she was a ruler in and of herself. This was due to the political turmoil that was around Poland and Hungary at the time.

Yeah, one of the source books released (I forget which one...I think it was Rockman Perfect Memories, though) said that Serenade's existence transcended even gender.
It's weird, but that's how it is.

| I always thought of Serenade of Female, even when Ive had my thoughts of a serenade CF, I always thought it would be with a female. Serenade just looks like a woman by design ,but could go either way. |
