|
|
There must be at least ten that I can think of.
It seems kinda weird that this name has over 8 different ways of being spelt, but names like "Roll" and "Gutsman" have one, determinate spelling.
How many can you think of that you've actually seen somewhere, and where did you see them first? And, more importantly, which one do you like the best?
Here are mine:
"Greiga" and "Gregar" are the official spellings in Japan and America, respectively. But I've seen "Grega" used on some websites, and even "Graygar" once in the dub of the comics by Ryo(u)-san.
*whew* That blew off a lot of steam. Ranter, signing off! |

Well, I mean ones that you've actually seen written.
I think "Greigar" exists somewhere. I'll check.
Wow, 16,000 search results for "megaman battle network 6 cybeast greigar". But a lot of them have the corrected spelling.
Anyway, considering my not-so-wide knowledge of Rockman, I wouldn't know exactly who Gospel is... *shot twice* ... only, I've heard his name before. |

I call him blue dog.
Because he is blue.
And like a dog.
...
Anyways, the most common way I've seen it is: Greiga or Grega. I've seen Greygar, and various mis-spellings of Greiga [graigar, grayger, etc], but I'm pretty sure Greiga/Grega are the two most common. _________________ all i ever wanted was the world |

So far, all I know is that it's been spelled "Greiga" and I kinda agree on it when you listen to its pronunciation: Gureeigah. But heck, it's fun to see other spellings XD
Off topic: I once saw Laika's name being spelled "Ricker" No joke! XD _________________

I think it's more of a wolf, and Gregar/Rockman is more of a werewolf.
You've never seen "Gregar"? That's actually the official spelling in North America.
Anyway, what's with "GLAGAAAAA"?
As well, the original theme doesn't seem to work. Should I switch to SubSilver or the custom theme? |

I said glaga since that'd be the phonetic way of pronouncing it if you got REEEEEEALLY thick accented. _________________ The time is come. Bid farewell to your bloodstained past.

Right. But accented in what national slant? (I think if it were Japanese, it would be more of "glaigah"...) |

When I was still new to EXE and I first saw Greiga I was like "Gospel? " _________________ The time is come. Bid farewell to your bloodstained past.

I saw the first Beast eps prior to seeing the first EXE season (distorted sense of being chronological) so when I saw Gospel, I was like "Eh? Greiga?!" XDD _________________

I never actually saw Gospel until I read the manga. (And even then he was named Grave. How was I supposed to know the difference?)
I had seen the name in BN2, but never played until the end of that. In fact, the only one I've actually cleared was BN6. (in 17 hours and 32 minutes. I had to use an emulator, but I only actually used save state ONCE!) |

Gregar is the international spelling, while the romanisation would be Greigar/Greygar. The Japanese official romanisation is Glaga which is silly, I think they thought maybe you would say the a in Gla as "A" (ey from hey). _________________

"Glaga"? Seriously? Wow, that's messed up. I mean, there's no "L" in Japanese, only an "R" when transliterating. I'm thinking "Greiga-ru" would be the transliteration from English, considering that last "r".
Anyway, how would you make the "fe" sound in Katakana? Would you use "he", or "fu-e"? |

Not to up my post count or anything, but...
Wouldn't it be cool if we could make up a story with Gospel fighting Greiga? (I mean, they're both "cyber-beasts"... the only difference between them is that Gospel has 7 horns instead of 5, and is black with green spots. I'm getting this from the anime.) Or has that already been done? (If so, who won?) |

Gospel's nowhere near Greiga in a "Tier" sense. _________________ The time is come. Bid farewell to your bloodstained past.

I think it's that one's is a virus while the other is a great important web thing. There would be a big beating from one to the other. I'm sure. |
