I saw this on the journal of ShadyPenPen (Thanks for posting!) on DeviantArt. I didn't see a topic about it here yet. If this is really true, I'm very surprised that they seem to do a third game/season. It seems Burai has a role and a new character is added as well.

Weird....one half of me is happy but the other half, what was the point in cancelling season 2 when they now seem to work on a season 3?

Uh... I don't necessarily think this means that there'll be a third season of the anime, just that there's going to be a third game in the series. And truth be told, unless we can get a change of staff on the project, I'm not entirely sure that I want a third season of the anime. They had two seasons to prove their worth, and it just didn't work out.

Anyways, there is a topic about this, just over in the game's forum. But since this one's dedicated to a possible third season, I don't think there would be a problem. (But then, I'm not a mod, so who knows?)

As one final remark. In a way I do agree if it would be even desirable to see a third season, then again Tribe did have its enjoyable moments. I automatically assumed that they would accompany a new game with a new season but I guess that it isn't always the case.

There was no anime for the third EXE game. The anime had already been cancelled, but it came back to promote the fourth game.

If they can get a full ep back again the anime might be saveable. We'll see if they can do it again.

Though I think stopping for now was a good choice. They've tried to rush stuff for unreleased games into the anime early and it didn't work out so well. It looks like it will be awhile before the game's out anyway.
