So, Legend of Network wasn't enough for you people thinking EXE was done?! How about another tweaked EXE game? Here comes EXE 6.5...

"September 23, 2006 - Even retired, Mega Man EXE is getting more jobs than most gaming heroes get in their career. The Mega Man Battle Network series ended last year with the climactic MMBN6 team of games, but Capcom isn't done with the series yet.

Before you call "foul" on Capcom for wrapping up the series and then releasing another danged game in an already overpacked series, know that Beast Link is actually a slightly different breed. The GBA cart is part of a series of releases (including an arcade machine and a simple LCD toy) that lets you in real life scan new sure-to-be-expensive EXE chips to customize your battles. These chips affect your loadout in battle, so you're going to want to collect good chips for any of the systems you play this on.

With the GBA release, you receive a card reader that looks about the size of the old E-Reader. You can load your chips into the card reader for use in-game. We didn't see any slot on the cartridge that required you to actually own Mega Man Battle Network 6 to play (assumedly, this is a new game), and we also didn't see much overworld or anything like that (this chip reader may simply be a battler rather than a full new RPG entry into the franchise, and it also maybe just a remake of the GBA part 6, but we're not sure from the little we've seen.)

Beast Link should be out in Japan in October of 2006, and unless the arcade phenomenon takes over America somehow, we'd figure this to be a Japanese-only release."

Credit to IGN.com...but then again, with how confused they sound in the second to last paragraph, I dunno what to make of it...

"Assumedly this is a new game" -.- Riiiiight...

I heard that EXE4.5 got boring rather quickly, much like BCC. Aside from possible new sprites, I don't really have a ton of interest in this if it's just another EXE4.5 type of game.

sounds to me like they want to rape the exe series for all its worth, package a new "tweaked" version with what sounds like a battle chip gate with a card function, I think they are setting up for the release of the new DS rockman & if Im thinking right, you might be able to use the exe series battle chips & they are just testing the waters for it. Thats just my two cents. Hell, Id import it
Minor Side note (since I mentioned the BCG), for those who want a battle chip gate, Play-Asia.com has EXE 4.5 with the BCG in stock

The only way this would be be partly interesting is if you got to use other navis. Like 4.5.

I assume you could. And maybe along with all the playable Navis from BN5.

Most likely a screw up on IGN's part. They've obviously mixed this up with the Beast Link Gate DX Editions that come with the game.

Obviously they think it's like a Card e-Reader by seeing it on an old GBA.

Also, the Beast Link Gate doesn't actually require it's own Operation Battle Mode, it's all used in-game especially with the chips in battle.

Nope, this isn't a game.

Beast Link Gate is a device made strictly for Rockman EXE 6 as an add on to install Navi Data Chips such as Rockman, Link Navis (For the version you're using), and Blues. Also allows one to use actual Link Battle Chips in-battle, Beast Out permanently (Unless you install a Navi Data Chip), Beast Cross (Without a Navi Data Chip installed and slotting it in at the Custom Menu), Leveled Up Status (by having a Leveled Up Data Chip using the Link PET_EX or Battle Chip Stadium Arcade game and installing it.)

Old Beast Link Gate Review

My review pretty much backs me up completely. Also, the fact that they don't even call it by the full name makes it even more faulty as actual news. Meanwhile they've already released the Beast Link Gate DX Edition that come with either version of the game only last March. The device and combo pack is nothing new. Also, the device doesn't even work with American Versions of these games anyways, little did they know.

There's another explanation why in my opinion that they wouldn't even bother with EXE6 just because they already have Battle Chip Stadium, yet Ver 3.0 coming very soon. Mainly for obtaining Special Chips in Link Chip Form.

I rest my case.

Unknown Neo, I've noticed that your posts have been very short, to the point where it looks like you're just posting for the sake of posting. Please put more thought into your posts from now on, since it's now bordering on spam. Consider this a warning.

I would have fun with something like real operation considering the very large stack of matel battle chips sitting next to me. I hope they decide to release a new PET or this in the US so I can use these things in something other then my BN4 pet.
