Thirteen years have passed since I started taking karate. There have been a lot of times where I felt I couldn't do it; but I strove to overcome them. There were many hardships. I began as a boy and the art has helped me develop into a fine young man.

It has been a long hard road. However, my training has paid off.

After thirteen long hard years, I have finally obtained my black belt!

Wow, that's quite an accomplishment. Thirteen years is a hell of a long time (about as long as some people take regular education, if you think about it) and to have stuck to such a physically demanding activity for so long, not to mention having achieved a respectable rank, is easily worthy of praise. Congratulations.

I've only taken one Karate class, and it was a sample, didn't take much after that ,but it was fun ^^;

I don't know of anyone in my family who have even gone up that far in Karate (I think yellow or brown is the farthest that I know of).

I've never taken Karate before, only Judo, but I could never stick with it because classes were really late at night. D; I'm hoping to do some when I get to college, though.

I'm a martial artist myself. I've been doing Tung Su Do for about 12 years, and I have my red belt with 1 stripe. I'm 16 btw, and I'm looking to get my black belt sometime this year or next year.

I also practice in Wing Chun Kung Fu
