OtaRockman Panel 2009 ideas?

So I was tossing some ideas around in my head in regards to this year's panel.

- Need a bigger room.
We had a workshop room last time, and we had to shut out folks because of capacity / fire code issues. This is more of a real issue than a panel event suggestion, but still an issue.

- Fan-generated content.
I've been seeing a lot of nifty game projects (Rockman 7 Famicom Version) and dubbings (Lucas Gilbertson redoing the Iris scene in X4), to the point that this should be addressed.

- Name that Tune Contest.
Another random idea I had for the game this year. Do a version of Name that Tune to Rockman music. To choose who gets to play, we do the raffle ticket thing again, but we choose 5 people to play. Those who dont win still get consolation prizes, but still, just an idea.


Anyone else care to put in their 2 zenny?

Well, we could arrange a montage of clips at the beginning, featuring gameplay, cutscenes, anime, & commercials from previous games. Only this time, without warning, in the middle of the clip, GUTSMAN'S ASS pops up. :3

It's not set in stone yet that we will have a panel this year, but we hope so. Otakon has a reputation of denying returning panels in favor of "new" stuff.

As to Dingo's comments...

1. We were added to the schedule less than two weeks before the con, as a last minute addition because a workshop panel had dropped out. Normally a panel like ours would have been in an actual panel room, not a workshop. ^_^; So if we return next year, we should get more space. I know the staffer who watched over our panel was really impressed with us, and the fact that we maxed out the room is to our favor for getting a bigger location.

2. I believe the plan for our next panel is to ditch the timeline since that was covered last year, and move on to theories and fan-created content that maybe not a lot of people have seen.

3. Adding a contest takes a lot of time, unfortunately. ^_^; We will probably just stick to the normal raffle ticket system for distributing prizes.

Well, it's still early, and I figured it was just a guess at this point anyway if we'd have the panel again.

But seeing as how we DID have that large a turnout and actually had to turn people away, if we provide the evidence that we needed more room, etc., then I think our case is solid to return with a bigger room.

Covering theories and fan-creations would be perfect this time around.

As for the contest, again, just a thought.

/me is learning to play guitar again, I could try to learn Airman ga Taosenai and write some english lyrics for it. If we have an extra minute or two I could do a live performance of it to the video XD

Edit: Proooobably not, though. But I certainly would like to learn it anyway XD

if we do have a panel, I have a few things I could offer as prizes, besides the met hat, on a recent jaunt to my local import store I found that they still had the Rockman EXE 4 Gameboy SP sitting on the shelf, I had been pawing at a year ago, at a nice discounted price. So I picked it up just for such an occasion.
