Beast Link Gate?

Well, recently, I've been wondering what the beast link gate in the Japanese version of MMBN6 is.

Is it an e-reader thing? Is it a continuation of the story? Does it do anything at all for the player?

I know that the whole storly with Django and Hackjack (the cout, whatever) was removed, and a few things had to be replaced (the bat key opening the door in the graveyard area, gating the supervulacn chip from beating the virus battlw minigame lvl 5, etc).

It's actually one of the coolest ad-ons for the gameboy. Link chips can be slotted in during battling and are used like regular chips, sort of like in the anime. You slot the chips in in real time for your Navi to use, only, for BN6, you have to control MegaMan, he's not an AI like in 4.5 and such. As for as I know, it doesn't unlock any side-quests or anything story related, though. It's just something fun to pay with.

But the Beast Link Gate doesn't work with the American/English version, though; only in Japan. I think it's the only gate that doesn't work with the American versions. For some reason Capcom decided to take THIS one out, but not the other Gates.
