Regarding which EXE version is your canon snugglebunny

I'm not sure if this has been asked recently, but I haven't seen a similar topic being posted in in the last month.

Which version of EXE do you think of as the most canon, or legitimate in terms of storyline and character development?

Do you prefer the games (all six, only the first three, all except 4/5/6, all the even numbered ones, all the prime numbered ones) because they're the original series from which everything else sprung up?

Or do you like the anime (all seasons, all seasons except Beast, first season, first and second seasons, only Beast (in which case we are not friends), any season in which Forte/Laika/Shademan shows up), and think it does a better job of conveying a lot of the characters' personalities, and/or just feels cooler in general?

Or you might like the manga. But I...really haven't seen anyone who thinks the manga is the be-all and end-all of plot. Feel free to prove me wrong, though o_o



...and while we're on the subject of various canons, could someone who knows Japanese tell me if anime!Laika has ever mentioned having parents who are still alive at the time of EXE? This is a fanfic sticking point. I NEED TO KNOW. I will bake you cookies over the internet. D:

The games are the canon fodder for me, but I would have considered the anime for the position if it wasn't for Stream onward.

The games and the anime were my favorite canon sources :3
the manga was pretty good too, but didn't go as in-depth as the anime did sometimes ^^
