Death Battle: Dr. Robotnik vs. Dr. Wily

For those of you who follow ScrewAttack, the long-awaited Death Battle is out.

And for those who don't follow ScrewAttack, well here's the dealio. Death Battle works similar to Deadliest Warrior, pitting icons of pop culture against each other instead of people through history.

Today marks the release of the long-awaited match featuring Rockman's very own Dr. Wily again the evil nemesis of Sonic Dr. Robotnik. For a long time, the debate about which of these two would win in a fight has droned on. ScrewAttack has stepped up to deliver. Through their research, they have come up with this episode Death Battle to determine which of these iconic video game made scientists will reign victorious.

Here's what I said over at the MM Network for this.

Much like the rest, I was expecting Super Bass the All Robot Masters fighting a Super Metal Sonic form at the end.

But, this works I guess. Much like most 3D games, Eggman has a huge monster that got out of his hands.

Now all we need is Sonic and Classic Megaman to come in and beat him to save the day.

I thought it was pretty good.

My friends and I got into a debate about this and we all agreed that the only reason this outcome was reached was because Metal Sonic was able to get his hands on the Chaos Emerald. If not for that, Dr. Wily would have won; his troops dominated Robotnik's army.

Wily's standard troops quickly overpowered Robotnik's troops, forcing the latter to call out the Badniks. Badnik forces were able to defeat Wily's army of Mets, Sniper Joes, etc., but the Robot Masters dominated as soon as they hit the field. Even Sheep Man was able to defeat Scratch and Grounder with one hit (though truthfully, that wasn't even a fair fight). Even after Metal Sonic came out, he would have been defeated by Yellow Devil if it hadn't been for Silver Sonic's Chaos Emerald.

Interesting. I tied it all to Metal Sonic and his super forms and Bass copying powers with Treble. But yeah, that does make some sense.
