IoT meaning the "Internet of Things", that is. I just had a thought that could bring the 3D Internet world idea to fruition faster.

Obviously, the tools/software to make this possible would have to be created first, but what if there was a program where you could create your own "level". It would basically be your homepage. Your homepage would reside on an SD card, Raspberry Pi, w/e. In the case of a RasPi, you could have a sort of LAN party with friends who have the same setup.

When you connect your RasPi to the Internet, however, you could make your homepage accessible. Of course, you could prevent entry via a password, but it would be a neat way of connecting. Also, each homepage would have a BBS where visitors could leave messages.

Basically the Internet world of MMBN, as you know (haha!), but broken down more.

———

I *so* wish I had more time to work on things like this, instead of dealing with real life, but that's the real world for ya. Still, my aim for this year is to start a business that can sustain itself without so much input from me so I can spend more time coding. As always, I will keep you guys posted.

If it's a small local thing only, then this should be possible by using Unity.

I wonder, if it's possible to download Unity scenes from the internet and directly use them.. maybe check if there's already a status..

I think it should be possible?

I never thought about Unity because it requires a license to use. If this is to be open-source, I don't think that would work. At least, not without having the Unity logo plastered on things.

I was thinking of using something based upon three.js.

To be honest, I'm not sure why it would be a problem.

A free license works fine. The Unity logo only shows up at the loading screen, and it doesn't need to be plastered on things.

But if you prefer three.js, go for it. Thing is, I can't do anything with that.. I just referred to Unity cause I'm a bit known with it. ^_^;
