This is mostly for a piece I'm writing for my writer's craft course.
How did you first introduce yourself to Pokemon? (Did you watch the show first? Or did you start with the games, stuff like that)
When did you first start whatever you anwsered to the above question?
If you've played Pokemon and own some games, which games do you own?
Have you ever played Pokemon over the internet with anyone? (Via Pokemon Netbattle or RS bot or something else?)
Have you watch the show or any of the movies? If you've watched the movies about how many and if you can remember them, which?
Ever collect the cards and if you did, do you still have them or did you dispose of themin some way?
Mind if PM you a bit about this later if I find you case interesting or something else? (I probably won't but I figure I may as well ask just in case)
And sincethe rules around seem to say I can't just ask questions, I've to give my own answers, ehere they are (not that I won't have done this anyway  )
I first started playing pokemon when I recieved Pokemon Red for Christmas the year of its release. Come to think of it, when I first got it I pretty much played it for 24 hours straight. (This is why I'm wary of role playing games, I don't have the bast playing habits for them.)
I started playing when I was about 11 and in grade 6. I now own Pokemon Red, Blue, Gold, Silver, Ruby, and Fire Red. I've basically avoided things like Pokemon Pinball and Snap. I play Pokemon or Netbattle (I go by S. I. Rats mostly if you see me there)
I used to watch the anime but I didn't for very long. I've watched about 5 of the movies. I've seen the 1st, bits of the 2nd, the 3rd, 4th, 5th and maybe the 6th, I can't remember.
I still have quite a few Pokemon cards stashed under my bed =P
Yes, I don't mind if I PM myself. |

1. I saw a commercial for it on TV. I wasn't really interested in it until it became superhyped at my elementary school.
2. 3rd grade, I think, so about 6-7 years ago.
3. Red, Blue (stolen and gone, now  ), Yellow, Gold, Silver, Stadium, and Snap. I kind of lost interest before Gold and Silver came out, but I bought them anyways. (EDIT: I also have Pinball, which I forgot about).
4. No.
5. I watched the first season of the show. I still have some official VHS tapes with some episodes somewhere.
6. I still have all of mine. A whole bookfull. I might sell them in the future, though.
7. Sure.

I remember a friend of mine was talking non-stop about the game, and the more he went on the more my friend(who was never a big gamer) and myself decided we needed to own the game. Shortly after that we got into the show, and I decided that I loved Ash. ^^;

As soon as I got a copy of Pokemon Blue, which was shortly after release if I remember correctly, I started playing it.

Blue, Red, Yellow, Silver, Gold, Crystal, Puzzle League, Puzzle Challenge, Colleseum, Snap, Stadium, Stadium 2, Hey You Pikachu!, Fire Red, Leaf Green, Trading Card Game, Pinball... And all the Pokemon Mini games. Plus a Pokemon GBC(With Pokemon Yellow), and a Pokemon GBA from the Center in NYC. XD

No, I never did that... although I used to RP it daily. Ehe..

Used to watch the show, I have the complete first set of DVD's. As for the movies.. I have... The first through sixth, plus the second Mewtwo one. I need to get the seventh, and heard they've announced the next one in Japan.. X3

I was a big card collector, but I never played. I still have them all in a binder hidden under a cabinet so they won't get dammaged.

1. I think I saw the show. Don't recall that much, but I knew I got hooked there.
2. I believe it was about six or seven years ago, when Pokemon first came out.
3. Lessee...I have Red, Yellow, Silver, Pinball, and the TCG for the GBC. Other than that, not much else.
4. You can do that?
5. Yes, and I've watched probably the first three or four movies. I know I saw "Mewtwo Strikes Back," the second one, the one with the Entei, the one with the Lugia, and "Pokemon Heroes" and "Pokemon 4Ever". (Because of my fuzzy memory, I may have named a given movie multiple times.)
6. Yes, for about a year. I stopped when I got into Magic, which was probably around when Wizards dropped its affiliation with the Pokemon TCG. I still have the cards, and some are in binders, others in decks, but most of them are in piles begind my giant stacks of Magic cards.

1. I watched the show first, and then bought a Pokemon Sapphire game
2. when I was like 7?
3. I currently own Pokemon Sapphire and Leaf Green, and Pokemon Channel
4. I never know you can do that....
5. I have watched pretty a lot of episodes, but not all...about 2/3. I watched all of the movies so far.

I recall playing Red on my older brother's Gameboy at one time and when I got on of my own, I eventually got a Blue. I can't remember the exact year though, but likely no later than two years after its release, and I'm positive Yellow and Pinball weren't out yet. I started watching the anime shortly after I got a Red/Blue guide.
I own TCG, Crystal, Sapphire, and Leaf Green. My younger brother has Silver and Ruby. I gave him Red and gave away Yellow. I lost Blue and Gold. Don't know what I did with Pinball. I haven't played anyone over the net.
I've watched four movies: the first three in theaters and the Jirachi one on Cartoon Network.
I did collect the cards, but I believe I stopped after the Gym Leader releases, during the GS seires. I disposed of them when I forgot to take them with me when I moved, thus resulting in my younger half-brother claiming them (he was really young then and thought everything was his), and I imagine he ripped most of them up .
And no, I don't mind if you PM me.

1. I saw the commercial about when I turned 10 (the first commercial), and immedeatly got it afterwards, since I used to be game deprived. I thought it was an adventure, since I didn't know what an RPG was. But Pokemon was the gateway I needed to become who I am today. I don't want to sound like one of those consumer guys, but because of Pokemon not only did I master beginner's algebra...I am also more confident and a little more hasty than I was 10 years ago. 
2. I have owned: Red, Yellow, Snap, Silver, Stadium 2
I own: Sapphire, FireRed, Collesium, and soon enough, Emerald.
3. Yes I have. My Net team is nothing compared to my real team. I am part of the [X] clan.
4. I still do. Mewtwo Strikes Back was a favorite, The Power of One has a place in my heart, The Mystery of the Unown was okay, I liked that Celebi onw...but it's my least favorite, Pokemon Heroes was Great. I Haven't seen Jirachi the Wishmaker, But I did see Destiney Deoxys on Kids WB.
5. Oh my god...the cards I collect them STILL every now and them...I am a Card Collector. I recently bought Jirachi Wishmaker Deck. And I still have my old ones....fond memories of people I didn't even know whom I traded with...each one special in their own way.
And I wouldn't mind....
BTW my favorite one is Gardevoir

I got the game way before they made the tv shows. I still have my original game Red and I got the pikachu yellow version. I got the ruby version beacsue it was real time strategy. But that was it. The pokemon you caught don't look as cool as the orignials.

A friend of mine got Red version and showed me which got me interested in buying Blue.

5. Yes, I've watched the 1st season and have seen Mewtwo's Return (The First Movie) and 5-10 mins of The Power Of One (The Movie 2000[Not including Pikachu's Rescue adventure]). I have also read the graphic novel for The Power Of One.
6. Yes. I don't know where they are but I don't think I disposed of them.

1. I saw the show, I think the episode was about a magician with Eggsecute (sp?) or theone where Ash catches Caterpee (again sp?)

5. Yes, 6, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, The Sequel to 1st, the Jirachi one, the Deoxys one. (I lost count around the 5th or maybe it was 4th)

1. Well, at first I really disliked pokemon. I thought it seemed just plain stupid. Then I got my first Gameboy and the videogame my mom bought me with it was Pokemon red. I thought it would be dumb, but it was really fun to me. After that, I just continued to play and started to watch the show.
2. When I was in fifth grade or so.
3. Red, Blue, Silver, Sapphire, Leaf Green, Stadium/2, Colosseum, Snap, and Hey You! Pikachu.
4. No, never.
5. I watched the show more frequently when I was younger, but I don't as often. I've seen every movie available and own about 4 of them.
6. Yeah, I played them for a long time. I was obsessed and spent too much money on them. I still have all of mine, but haven't bought a pack in about three years.

Well I really hated it at first. It seemed utterly ridiculous to me. of course, it was mostly just the cards at first, which I never had any interest in at all. But then one morning before school I saw an episode of the show - which now of course I think the show is a joke - but I was like nine and the show seemed pretty cool to me, so I decided to get a lil more into it. Then one of my cuzzins got a hold of one of the games from one of his friends and that really drew me in.

I played every Gameboy game up until Crystal. I own Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal - but that one was stolen, and Leaf Green. After Crystal I got bored. Then a year or two later I saw Leaf Green, heard what it was and decided to give it a shot. I mean, the originals were great, so the remake hadta be. I dunno; it was okay. I finished the whole thing in about a day. I was bored by the end of the week. It's my brother's now.

I've seen the first movie, and Two-Thousand. The elledged Mew vs. Mewtwo movie, which I never really liked that much, and the one with Lugia which was in my opinion just weird... I didn't really like either movie so I stopped watching the movies after that. I watched the show as a kid up until the Johto episodes. In my opinion, there should've been One Hundred Fifty Pokemon and just leave it at that. It was annoying and repetitive by the time they got to those eppys. Well it probably was before then, but I was a kid.

I actually tried to become something of a card collector after seeing how the game was played. I never got really into it though, and I got bored very fast. I didn't have any good cards, and I still don't. They're residing right now at the bottom of one of my dresser drawers. I'd sell them to a card store but they're really pretty worthless anyway... I oughta throw 'em out.

1. I first got into it when the T.V. show came out for the first time. God were those the good days when everyone loved atleast one anime. *sigh*
2. I started when I was in 3rd grade I think. 1998 was when it came out in the U.S. , right?.. *ponders*
3. I have blue version, ruby, leaf green and fire red. I have played all the games out so far however except for emerald version.
4. nah. I haven't played over the net... Is that even possible? O.O;;
5. I liked the older series better then the newer series. They kicked off Misty!!! and it was getting way too long and too dragged on for me. I have watched movies 1, 2, 3, 6 and mewtwo returns. I was a bit dissapointed with mewtwo returns though. It seemed like it was missing something.. And where did mew go to!?!?
6. I used to collect the cards. I don't know where they are now though ^^;; I don't collect them anymore sadly.

I was first introduced to Pokemon when I saw an older kid playing it on the school bus and I asked if I could look at the manual. I can't remember whether I saw the TV show or recieved Pokemon Red first, but either way, Pokemon Red Version was my very first video game.

I own the Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Crystal, Ruby, and Leaf Green versions, Pokemon Pinball, Pokemon Pinball 2, Hey You Pikachu (and a Pikachu N64 to go with it!), Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Stadium 2, and Pokemon Colosseum. Unfortunately, I haven't even come close to finishing Ruby or Crystal, I only played Pinball once or twice, I only play the minigames in Stadium and Stadium 2, and I haven't had time to play Leaf Green, Pinball 2, or Colosseum. On the plus side, I really love those Stadium minigames, and Pokemon Snap and Hey You Pikachu are my favorite games of all time!

Nope. By the time I learned it was possible, I no longer had enough free time to really get into it.

I used to watch the TV show every day. Then in my senior year of high school, I didn't have enough time, so I only watched the new episodes on weekends. Now that I'm in college, I don't watch TV at all, and I don't really miss it - by the time the show got to the Johto seasons, the episode plots had gotten way too formulaic. On the other hand, I've watched and own on DVD every movie that's been released in the US (except the Deoxys one, which I'm getting for my birthday), the Mewtwo special, and a good portion of the first season. My favorite Movie is the First Movie (because it has Mew, my absolute favorite Pokemon of all time), my second favorite is the Mewtwo special (because Mewtwo is my second-favorite), and my third favorite is Pokemon 4Ever (because I just liked the emotions in it more and because the twist at the end about [spoil:0c8fa6001c]Sammy actually being Professor Oak[/spoil:0c8fa6001c] was so great). My biggest complaint about the DVDs is that they don't come in widescreen. ARRRGH!

I once bought a bunch of the eReader-compatible trading cards because they had minigame data encoded on them and I got a whole bunch of those Ruby/Sapphire eReader cards so I could get the secret extra berries, but I haven't gotten around to actually using them. I keep all them in a big Pokemon binder.

Sometime in my childhood. Probably five to six.

Um...Red, Yellow, Silver, Pinball and (EDIT) TCG.

Um...I still watch the show, and I've seen every movie except Jirachi Wishmaker, so...

From Base Set to some time in the Johto sets. I gave up there and gave into MtG. I still have the cards in my room.

1. I believe the theme song was what got me hooked on the dub. <_<;; The first episode I saw wasn't particularly memorable, perhaps because my understanding of English was minimal then, but the catchy animation attracted me to the show anyways. And then one of my classmate's dad's friends brought over a Pokemon Blue rom (only we didn't know what it was then :P), and that got me officially hooked on the series. Although, even now, my friend still beats me at every Pokemon game. >__>;;
2. At the age of eight, perhaps.
3. Pokemon Blue, Silver, Gold (Chinese), Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, and Fire Red.
4. Yes. Was pwned.
5. Watched only the first three, and then the fourth never came out in theaters, and it was years later I found the DVD. By then Pokemon had grown too much for me to keep up with. However, I loved The Power of One more than any of the others.
6. I may still have a bunch of holographs around stuffed into a folder or something, but I never actually got any "rare" ones.

1. I first introduced myself through the original Gameboy games. I got a chance to borrow someone's game in middle school and just couldn't put it down.
2. I was 12 at the time.
3. I own Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Fire Red, Colloseum, and the TCG Gameboy game.
4. Yes, briefly.
5. I used to watch the shows and the movies, until their plots started to suck.
6. I used to collect the cards, but I never had much money to devote to them, and no one to play with.
7. Sure, go ahead. Though I doubt I'm an "interesting case".

1. I started with the game. It was Pokemon Red.
2. It was a long time ago. I think it started 6 years ago...
3. I have Pokemon Red, Blue, TCG, Pinball, and Crystal.

5. I watched the show. I haven't seen any of the movies yet.
6. I haven't ben collecting lately, but I still have my cards :D . It's mostly from the Gym Heroes set. I have the complete set of Misty cards (from the near worthless Misty's Magikarp, to the pre-released Misty's Dewgong, to the rare holofoil Misty :D !).
