10/2/2004 :: And so, the third continuation of the EXE genre begins. This first episode of Rockman.exe Stream is simply entitled, "Duo". I'll say this straight out, about 80% of this episode is characters standing around and talking. Thus, there are some parts I didn't quite understand. Izumi helped me out with some of the more key points, however. I will do the best I can. :)
Under the night sky in Akihara, an old man pushes a cart filled with empty cans along a deserted street. Suddenly a car with blaring music passes him by, spraying him from a puddle of dirty water. Without saying a word, the old man begins typing a few keys on the panel of his cart, which activates a missile to eject! A fiery explosion occurs with the projectile collides with the car.
During this same night, a scientist is giving a lecture concerning the recent asteroid that is passing the Earth. (Yuuichirou has a new voice actor. ;_; No more sexy dad voice.) After the lecture, Yuuichirou, Kifune and Manabe leave via a car, discussing the recent events along the way. Yuuichirou suspects something odd is still going on, but can't figure out just quite what.
The next morning, it's bright and sunny in Internet City! A cyber soccer game has begun in the arena, with Rockman and his friends all on one team. Glyde misses a chance to catch the ball, so he calls out to Rockman, who successfully snipes it with an Area Steal. One of his opponents attempts to stop his advance with a Fire Arm, but Iceman quickly blocks it with his Blizzard.
With another enemy coming his way, Rockman passes the ball over to Glyde, who soon finds two other opponents on his tail. No problem, Yaito has her stash of rare chips on hand! Slotting in the Dream Aura, Glyde is easily shielded, and is allowed to make a kick at the goal. With a burst of wind, the goalie causes the ball to stop in midair, and sends it to one of his own teammates.
That said player then makes a kick at Rockman's goal, which is respectively gaurded by Gutsman. Dekao slots in the Mega Guts Punch chip, giving Gutsman the power to knock it back straight to the goal on the other side! The goalie tries with all his might to stop the force of the ball, and just barely manages to do so.
Though the ball was blocked, the goalie loses his hold on it, and it goes straight up in the air, only to land harmlessly a few feet from the goal. This gives a certain pink colored navi to punt the ball easily past the now exhausted goalie. XD Navis and operators alike cheer as they win the game of soccer.
With all the fun and games, everything eventually has to come to an end. Being so, Yaito is heading back to Kingland, while Dekao prepares to return to Jawaii. Netto and his friends go to see them off at the airport, where Yaito's very large and very pink jet awaits. Dekao gets teary eyed when Meiru says she'll miss him, then reminds Netto to not forget that one day he'll be defeated by his mighty Gutsman.
Netto then mentions Enzan to Yaito, but she doesn't make too much of a fuss over him (for once). However, a very tiny glint on her forehead causes a brief moment of blindness for the white haired boy, as he sits in on a meeting at IPC. Enzan's assistant asks what's the matter as he squints his eyes, but the boy eventually says it's nothing. Enzan smiles as he looks out the window, and Netto wishes the two well as the plane takes off into the air.
At the Science Labs, Yuuichirou and Meijin become informed that signals are being interrupted around the city. Meanwhile, Higure is driving all the kids off somewhere, but traffic is making progress slow. Tohru tries to turn on the radio, but receives only static. Tohru thinks his radio is broken, but Higure states that it's been working perfectly fine until now.
Rockman pipes up from Netto's PET, stating that a virus may be the cause of their problem. Sure enough, a giant rumble ecchos down the street, announcing the arrival of something very, very.....big. Meiru tells Netto to look out the window, and he sees buildings begin to crumble directly in front of their path.
One of the scientists informs Yuuichirou that a virus is attacking Densan city! Sure enough, the giant stomping noises reveal themselves to be a huge Mettool! Meijin becomes absolutely confused, how on Earth can a virus appear in the real world, without a Dimensional Area? Yuuichirou remains silent, but he immediatly thinks of the asteroid which is passing nearby in space.
As the giganto Mettool raises his axe, he sends a shockwave flying, and Higure and the kids quickly flee the car just in time. Yuuichirou confers the situation with the Commissioner Kifune of the Net Police, and it's decided that they will trap the virus inside a Dimensional Area.
Spunky new eyecatch! Netto, "Rockman.EXE!" Rockman, "Stream!" The first eyecatch features Netto with the new PET, and the second eyecatch is Enzan, who also has the new PET, only red version (as always). The new battlechips are black. O_o
Higure and the kids are still fleeing the rampaging Mettool, but are thankfully saved when Enzan pulls up in his limo. Everyone quickly shoves themselves inside, and the car drives off in safety. Chisao lets out a relieved breath and a very cute "We're saved-chu!", while Higure starts mumbling about his poor car.
Netto becomes frustrated about what in the feck is going on, just as Blues attracts Enzan's attention to his PET. He informs them that Dimensional Converters are on their way to a nearby construction site. Both Enzan and Netto are let out of the car at the said location, and race towards the top of the roof.
Once they reach the top, Enzan and Netto plug in their navis into two different construction cranes nearby. Netto has Rockman wave a heavy bar of iron that is hanging from the crane to attract the Mettool's attention, which works perfectly. (big and stupid, as they say)
Netto runs up to the railing so he can get a better view, telling Rockman to keep it up. He then yells over to Enzan, stating "I'm depending on you!" Enzan responds with, "Leave it to me!", then has Blues whack the giant mettool with a heavy bar that hangs from his own crane.
Even though the Mettool is crushed into the building, it still has the strength to look up at Enzan as it pulls itself free. Netto then calls upon Rockman, who continues the game of "whack-a-mettool" by slamming his iron rod right down upon its big yellow helmet.
With the Mettool stunned, both of the boys use their cranes to hook under it's helmet, and lift it off it's feet. Enzan then notifies Netto that the Dimensional Converters have finally arrived. Just in time!
The flailing Mettool eventually causes enough stress on the cranes, leading to its release. Yuuichirou orders the activation of the Dimensional Area, and so the protective shell forms itself around the construction site, trapping the Mettool inside. Unfortunately, it's about now that Meijin tells Yuuichirou that his son and Enzan are inside along with it.
Sure enough, Netto and Enzan quickly use their individual Synchro Chips, and perform Cross Fusion. (It's very strange, Netto's PET has nothing but gibberish on the inside, but yet Enzan's PET clearly has the date of the Axess premiere. (20031004. REA))
R Rockman activates his default Rock Buster, and starts pelting away at the Mettool with plasma shots. R Blues follows up with his own default, Sonic Boom, but both attacks don't make much of a dent. Up above on top of the crane, a very familiar Shuryou appears to watch the battle.
Eventually the Mettool falls flat on his face, which allows the two Net Saviors to initiate a Double Program Advance. R Rockman flings off the Giga Cannon, while R Blues uses the Elemental Sword. Both assaults finally result in the Mettool's deletion.
With the problem resolved, the Dimensional Area fades away. Shuryou gives a smirk, then teleports away. (When did he learn to do that. O_o) Enzan catches his PET from midair, saying "Good job, Blues". Enzan is then distracted as he hears Netto suddenly calling out to Rockman repeatadly. Rockman has completely dissappeared!
Deep within the dark reccesses of the cyberworld, Rockman plummets to the ground, landing in unfamiliar territory. Rockman numbly stumbles to his feet, and feintly asks where he is. Suddenly, a more familiar voice calls his name, and he turns around to find Forte directly behind him!
(ZOMG, Forte has his own music theme now. ;_; So beautiful.) Rockman quickly jumps to conclusions as he blames Forte for the recent virus attack, but Forte denies to have anything to do with it. Actually, Forte has brought Rockman here for something much more simple. To gain the power to defeat something far more powerful.
Before Rockman can even blink, Forte teleports directly behind him, and grabs him in a choke-hold with his left arm. Forte remains expressionless as he finally sneers, "Rockman....your Ultimate Program will be mine!"
Netto informs his father that Rockman dissappeared the moment they went out of Cross Fusion, and he's not inside his PET. Enzan manually plug-ins his PET to a telephone, and dispatches Blues to go search for him.
Meanwhile, Forte relentlessly keeps hold of Rockman, demanding the power inside of him so that he can fuse with it. Rockman finally gets fed up with all the nonsense, and hurls Forte over his shoulder. The cloaked navi easily lands a small distance from him. Somewhere in the cyberworld, Blues rapidly searches for his lost friend.
Netto's PET begins to beep, and shows a very weak signal of Rockman's location. The two boys hurry off in that general direction, determined to get Rockman back. The blue navi continues to try to fend off Forte, this time with his Rock Buster, but his target keeps phasing in and out. Forte again demands his Ultimate Program, which angers Rockman even more.
As Forte phases out for the last time, a double copy reappears alongside him! In fact, a whole lot of Fortes have appeared, completely encircling Rockman in a trap. Rockman continues to fire his buster, but all of the copies just dissappear then reappear, unharmed.
Netto and Enzan arrive at the park in Densan City, but they don't see anything out of the ordinary. The squeak of wheels draw their attention to an old man, who is pushing a cart full of empty cans. The man notices that the boys are worried about something.
Netto: "Who are you?"
Old Man: "Have you already forgotten my face, Hikari Netto?"
Netto: "It can't be....."
Enzan & Netto: "Dr. Wily?!"
Wily: "No...the evil genius scientist, Dr. Wily!" (lol, crackpot O_o)
Now having their attention, Wily mentions that 15 years ago, the meteor containing Duo had passed by the Earth. A piece of that meteor landed in the ocean (which I think he states as a "probe"). At that same time, Oozono Yuriko and Regal also plummeted into the deep water, and began to glow with a mysterious light. (This is probably why Yuriko stated that she was not a "normal" human) The two eventually washed upon shore unconcious, where they were found by Wily.
Netto asks who the feck Duo is, and Wily responds that he is a different kind of Net Navi. He visited them 15 years ago, and now he has returned: to correct the mistakes of the past. The Dimensional Area that was created by Regal attracted Duo back to this world, who he believes has now become infected with evil.
Meanwhile, Rockman is furiously still trying to fend of his relentless opponent. Forte finally bounds in for the final blow, which knocks Rockman to the ground in a helpless heap. Still searching the net, Blues feels the resonance of Rockman's Ultimate Program, and immediatly contacts Enzan to instruct them where to go.
Having finished his tale, Dr. Wily turns to leave. Netto starts to dart for him, but a pair of jets flare up from undernearth the cart, lifting Wily up into the air as it transforms into a vehicle....thingy. Before he goes, he throws a can at Netto.
Wily: "Hikari Netto! Here's a present for Hikari Yuuichirou!"
Netto: *catches the can* "What the..... JUICE?!"
Enzan tells Netto that they have to go, and so the two of them hurry off to go retreive Rockman. In the net, Forte stands triumphantly over Rockman, who no longer has the strength to fight back.

A very dark and serious start to a brand new series, so very different from the other two Rockman seasons. Stream most obviously picks up right where Axess left off, even showing flashbacks to previous episodes. I'm most positively sure there's things I missed, so if anyone would like to clarify more or point out my mistakes, feel free to do so.
Forte. :DDD Next week, more FORTE, another battle against a giganto virus, and Netto gets marked by Duo to embark on his next quest to save the future from annihlation. See you then!
